The family of a Black sixth-grade student has filed a lawsuit against the Palmdale School District after a teacher went on a racist tirade that was recorded over Zoom back in January.

I don't think you can take someone's degee if they accumulated the credits and matriculated. You can go after their teaching license tho.. BUT.. most teachers leave the profession in under 8-years or so as I heard some time back. Thus a resignation and the pursuit of a transition to doing something other than in education has the potential of leaving this person to get off with her bad behavior scott free.

Litigation is golden. If you're a racist who would stoop so low as to terrorize black students and get caught, expect the parents to sue you and your employer. It's a job with basic standards that you could not maintain. It's a job. If you don't want litigation, do your job. Maybe, but that would be very unlikely, because it looks like the school that just fired her is going to get sued for a lot of money, and they have just been embarrassed by getting this negative publicity.
