The fact that joe, the most suicidal and unstable cop in the show, actually fought the release of death for a good while before finally accepting really hits hard. This man had actively craved the idea of his death bringing bonnie relief that she doesn't have to be with a cripple anymore and when it finally came, he immediately tried to stay alive before realizing this is what he's always wanted all along.

Kind of disappointing how they made Joe useless. But also what I find a little confusing by the scene is the fact that he fired shots into those Floaties directly into Joe’s limbs. Yet, he’s not even bleeding. Now someone say that’s an air gun but that’s not an air gun. In fact that rifle Stewie is using. He’s killed people with that rifle before and that should’ve been enough to hit Joe through the limbs, even his paralyzed legs. It doesn’t make any sense right there. Along with the fact that Joe is freaking out that he can’t swim and I’m like I’ve seen this guy swim before yet he’s complaining he can’t swim without Floaties? That makes absolutely no sense.
