I’m 19 and I’m not much of a tv watcher but I’d watch tv and movies all the time if they were made like they were in the 70s-80s. The calmness and realness in the scripts without trying to hard to be comedic or whatever is so refreshing. I’d watch this show if it was on tv today, I’d watch it everyday actually.

This show won all kinds of awards. Especially Kristy McNichol. For the 1979-1980 season they decided to give the show a push by changing it to what they thought was a better time slot. Instead, the ratings dropped dramatically so ABC canned it.

Audrey is not worth academic probation, it's a pity Buddy didn't originally think this through clearly. As for that horrible stalker, this was the age before stalking laws. I can't imagine anyone being able to push so many boundaries in terrorizing a family today. The criminals would either leave too much of a paper trail in their wake, or the parents would have some distant relatives pay Mr. Sosa a visit. Personally, my parents "bore arms" when I was growing up in this era, and as children we knew not to ever go near guns, and a man like Gantry would have gotten one good bullet in the knee for breaking into the house. I'm still stunned that he had the gaul to not only break into their home, but stand before Doug and taunt him while drinking his brandy, the nerve!

Well he was up against James Garner, Ed Asner, Peter Falk, Ralph Waite and Jack Klugman. That is some seriously fine acting. Ed Asner won. I think James Garner should have won. You can use a lot of words to describe James Garner but showy is not one of them
@user-mj8nf2vp7q4 жыл бұрын
Of this bunch, Klugman, Broderick, & Waite (in that order), were the most talented & with their stage experience, considered "Actor's Actors." who brought their all to the screen. Falk & Asner were also talented, but in their signature hammy-typecast manner & signature roles that neither, with only rare exceptions, ever transcended. Sometimes, as in the case of Garner's fame, looks; popularity, & "paid dues" win out, (Garner won several Emmy's & Golden Globe Awards & often seemed perplexed as to why he was accepting these awards). Although not much of an actor I'll give Garner this, if he ever stretched himself in any capacity as an actor; Rockford was it...but then the writing was pretty damned good.
@dandiacal4 жыл бұрын
@@user-mj8nf2vp7q I can't agree that Peter Falk is hammy; as far as acting chops go... A WOMAN UNDER THE INFLUENCE? HUSBANDS? Equal to if not better than even the stage veterans on the list. I also think that Garner was unusually modest in character and that trait more than objective lack of desert contributed to his being perplexed

She should have said , you fail the exam whoopee but if I fail the exam I fail the whole course and am off the swim team. There’s no way I could’ve not told because if we were that good friends I would have expected her to come clean

i am hoping someone can help me. I am looking for the episode where Buddy is supposed to babysit a friend or a lawyer Doug knows and Buddy isn't feeling well so Kate steps in only to find the boy has been beaten. Can anyone find the name of that episode? Thanks in advance!
