So this law has been changed. Before anybody hired by law enforcement who isnt trained is certified for the first year on the job. Its their job to complete the police academy within the first year hired. Since the police officer in Florence, South Carolina got killed at the airport who was untrained and about to go to the academy they changed the law, at least for all SC leo that they must be doing ride alongs until they complete the academy.

This is honestly heartbreaking. He had a horrible shot. It's also sad that this rookie who was new at his job, afraid in this split instance, and (seemingly responding alone?) at a potentially dangerous job just ruined his own life and career in his second week at work. They need to train officers in our states better and to a much higher standard and for a longer amount of time. They fall short on properly handling everything from people with mental disabilities to pets to just simply treating people with the exact same respect reguardless of skin color. Do better US Police Academies. Also, maybe just choose better quality candidates for our forces.
