Randomly ended up on your channel after searching for causes of low water pressure after just having a well pump replaced after 8 years. Watching some of your videos talking about how funny it is people close by finding you on here and being local looked ya up and your only about 3 hours from me. Love your videos and how detailed you are doing good work and helping people where you can. Will continue watching, as a 40 year old electrician they always put the j hooks in as practice with solid wire as extra safety measure to make sure the wire doesn't work loose and come out shorting out over time as it heats up and gets cold will work itself loose from expanding and contracting.

My family of 7 lived in a house without running water for 6 months because there was a shared well and the other property changed hands and the b!tch of a new owner decided she didn't want to share. We carried flushing and bathing water from the local creek. A new well was drilled and we had the best water ever.

I'm a Gould's pump fanboy, but that is based on a sample of one. We have a 3-wire 1/2HP 240V Gould's pump at our house that was installed in 1980 when the well was drilled. Can't complain about that. We have replaced the control box due to a lightning strike and the start capacitor several times over the years. So now I keep spares on hand. I agree with your comment about Well-X-Trol pressure tanks. I replaced our original pressure tank (forget the brand) in 2012 with a Well-X-Trol. Nice being able to help out your neighbor, Happy Thanksgiving.

Man all those bare spots are just asking for major issues! Good on you for taking care of them! And I agree with what you said 110%, go get the wire and make sure to eliminate that as a problem, dead shorts in high amperage electrical can do a lot more than just cause a pump not to work
@brucejackson643016 сағат бұрын
I have been watching your videos for a short time now and they have helped me considerately with what's been going on with my well, through the process of elimination......need to replace the pressure tank, pump works fine fairly new less than 3 years old. Thinking of replacing the pressure switch also....current switch still works fine even though I don't how old it is. Thank you for the informative videos. Keep them coming, learn something new with every one......really enjoy the go cart videos too.....Happy Thanksgiving to all your family!!!

When it comes to submersible pumps, you definitely get what you pay for. Vevor/Hallmark pumps would be great for irrigation systems fed from a large storage tank, but not for domestic water. They would also made a decent emergency pump for domestic water, just to run short-term until you get a good Goulds or Franklin replacement.

This is what us real men do that were raised correctly, i am a mechanic by trade and have done a few well pumps and lots of diagnosing electrical issues on wells. Even in my world i help people all the time and it comes back later, having a good reputation is super important in a small city like mine and its the same where u are too i can see. My grandfather and father were always down to help neighbors or anyone who needed it but nowadays people take advantage of folks like us so u have to be careful. Ur a good dude and always will be, i am sure your pops is hella proud of u and how u turned out too. The knowledge u have in your field is what people need most just like in the car world, bet your phone is always going off from people asking questions or trying to get u to diagnose a problem over the phone. We mechanics hate that too by the way lol, most of the time u can make a educated guess depending on info given but its a crapshoot when all they say is it wont turn on. This customers problem is the wire for sure like u diagnosed, even though multimeter says the right voltage when u start throwing the amps through it the problem soon shows itself. Always take care of the neighbors man, got to buy em off somehow lol.

Well done. Appreciate your channel I think everybody's learning a lot. I know I am. Currently have a convertible one horse jet pump. 17 years or so old. Planning on replacing that with a submersible. And of course new tank. My Wells only 26 ft deep so it sounds like I would be able to get away with a half horse? Not sure if I should go with 220 or 110? If I remember correctly with a 220 you have to have a control board? Not sure if I have a pitless adapter. The well pipe is under a concrete lid which is actually my patio. I've had it off before but I never pay attention. You would think I don't have a pitless adapter with a pit...

Word to the wise:, if you think those socks are amazing, you've got to try felt/wool insoles. I have the same problem with cold, wet feet and since inserting those in my boots the difference is night and day. 5/16" thick 75% wool 25% poly blend.

I've done a test on the Vevor 1.5hp 120v pump with control box. Works great and pumps exactly what they rated it for. The videos are on my KZbin channel. It pumps up our 84 Gallon pressure tank very quickly.
@MrBooMY315 сағат бұрын
I would highly recommend the 1.5hp model. It's worked great so far in my mom's well. Using a 1/2 HP Meyers to fill the aerator. The Vevor is inside the aerator and actually feeds my mom's house 50-70 PSI with no issues whatsoever.

Always de-rate random Chinese junk you get off Amazon by 80%. 33g/m * .2 = 6.6g/m. 1hp * .2 = .2hp. Motors in particular are a problem, they always rate them at max brake hp which is the peak hp when it stalls, not when it is running under load.
