Family Reunited With Mom’s 1957 Purse Thanks to Janitor

Elvis Presley was No. 1 on the charts when Ohio freshman Patti Rumfola's purse went missing at her high school in 1957. Astoundingly, it was recently found more than 60 years later by a school custodian doing repairs and returned to the owner's children. "I noticed there was like a little bag of dust on it between the locker and the wall," Chas Pyle told Inside Edition. "With the amount of dirt and discoloration of the material, I knew it had been there for a little bit." #InsideEdition

Interesting. I remember 1957...I was 11 yrs old that year. Her Mom passed at a young age. She was only 4 yrs older than me. I am almost 74 now. So glad they found her purse.

I think she set it on top of the locker and it slid down between the locker and the wall where it stayed hidden by the panel until the custodian removed it. I doubt she falsely accused anyone. They would have reported it in this story. I think it's cool that her children have this "gift" from their mom. I'll bet she was a wonderful lady.

UPDATE: I got inside information on how that purse got there. Someone threw it back there on purpose so that she wouldn't find it. The person did that when Patti was standing on front of her locker and the person just took the purse and threw it back there. Patti was then looking for the purse for days without any idea it was right behind the locker. I can't believe I finally get to see the actual purse on video after knowing about this secret for so long. I was not there when the purse throwing happened though.

For the most part no. Just money a lot more of it. You need a lot of money even teens and kids to get by these day’s . Mobile phones, and bank cards. Most people at teen age would have a Kylie Jenner gloss or something and no lipstick. The gum would be replaced with equal mints. How times have changed

My mom would have found it in half an hour. Once my paternal grandmother, who is a very clumsy and bad mouthed lady lost some of her clothes and blamed her sister in law of stealing them who had come to the house to attend some event. She cursed her for hours without even looking for her clothes properly. My uncle requested my mother to look for her clothes as the old lady made everyone's ears bleed by her curses. My mother found out in like 15 mins in granny's room at the back of the refrigerator where she must have clumsily put the pile of clothes and it fell at the back. My mother smiled and gave it to her. Everyone else just rolled their eyes on the misbehaved old lady, who didn't have an ounce of regret on her face.

I found a 21 year old time capsule on a beach in Florida when I was a kid, it was a wine bottle with a letter written in French, French coins, a medallion, and a picture. That wine bottle spend 21 years at sea and traveled thousands of miles probably going around the world several times. I always said one day I’m going to release my own time capsule at sea with contact information it would be interesting to see where t ends up and how long it will float around in the worlds oceans.
