I think Josh is just one of those people who can mimic accents without realizing he's doing it.. When Gabby speaks English she has an American accent so when he's with her most of the time he does too, but when he's with Ollie or one of his British friends his accent will automatically go British without him even trying or even thinking about it..

The main foreign languages of Spain are English, French, and German. Approximately 27% of the population speaks English. Some English speakers are British-born, others use English for business transactions. French is spoken by 12% of the population, like English, this is a common business language. Additionally, it is also spoken by French-born individuals who currently number about 100,448. German is spoken by only 2% of the population. So there's your foreign component right there.

I speak Spanish and English, but since I’ve been living in the states for 5 years and I rarely go back to Mexico, now it is easier for me to speak English (still not as fluent as native) than Spanish. When I do go visit Mexico, I forget how to speak Spanish at times, or i forget how certain things are called in Spanish, and since I am always traveling with family who’s first language is English, then I will speak English for the most part. Also, there are things I am most comfortable saying in one language than the other. Now I am trying to learn Korean, so the few phrases or words that I know i try to say them as often as I can to not forget even if the people around me don’t understand. When I am watching a K-Drama or listen to K-POP, I am always trying to mimic/copy what they’re saying in order to get familiarized with their accent and pronunciation. Speaking multiple languages can be hard at first and a little confusing but it is so much fun for me!

The thing gabie says of speaking multiple languages some days properly and other days you keep wondering if the word coming in your mind is even real. Thats the real struggle of a multilingual. Funnily enough, like Gabbie feels like her mother language is korean and her sister doesn't, it's the same for me and my sister, altough we have spent the same amount of time with my aunts and uncles but I can pickup the meaning of the many words she can't pick.

Same for me, I grew up in a household where we had to speak Dutch to my father, French to my mother, I learned English when I was around 4 or 5 years old and as a child, we watched Japanese shows with English subtitles so put that also in the mix. My accent is all over the place and when people ask what language my mother language is I don't always know how to respond! Numbers are a problem because French is known to have a messed up system which somehow got ingrained in my brain and now I get easily confused! 😂

Totally agree, when I was around 13 years old I started binge watching shows in other countries while I live in America. It started out with British shows and in my dreams and in real life I would subconsciously speak with a British accent, when I was 18 I started watching the Korean show The return of Superman (and now Gabie and josh). I don’t know Korean but in my dream I speak what sounds like Korean yet it’s English in my head, like I know what I’m meaning to say cause I think it in English but say it in Korean.

When I dream I don't know which language is used cause I don't remember things being said, I only know what I talked about with someone. Maybe I have a vague idea by context, like if I dream with someone that I can only communicate in certain language, my head won't make up them speaking in another language. Another thing that I've noticed recently is that when I'm reading something, I don't know in which language I'm reading it until I properly pay attention to it. I could be reading something in Spanish, switch quickly to English and don't notice I did.

3:28 I can relate so much.. Sometimes I feel like I speak 0 language too. I’m a Malaysian and my mother tongue is Malay, but then I also learned English at school and lived in the US for a while, so I got very comfortable with English. I’ve taught myself Korean for the past 5 years and I’m pretty good at it. I also love Thai and Tagalog and sometimes, I practice the basic. Recently, I took Arabic class at college but I’m not very used to it yet.. I get very confused too when speaking a certain language. Sometimes I would spell Arabic words by using Korean alphabets and speak English with Malay accent even tho I kinda have the American accent 🙃 I can relate to Esther too about the different tone we use when we speak different language. I get very cute-sy too when speaking in Korean compared to Malay, English and etc. BUT it’s fine, I love and enjoy learning languages. I enjoy your videos so much Gabie! You inspire me❤️

YES. I FEEL YOU. Im Malaysian too, but my mother tounge is British English because my family decides to fool my young brain at an early age and spoke English with a Brit accent whilst i was growing up (legit for 4 years). I obviously also know Malay since Im mixed Malay but since my grandmother is chinese, I also know some mandarin, but mot fluently enough. Then in secondary school, I decided to take up on Japanese as an extra subject and even went on an exchange programme to Japan for a while. As if that wasnt enough, in Uni I had to take Arabic as my "third" language option whilst picking up Korean (Because it has similar grammar to Japanese and is easier) and Sign Language (because I lost some of my hearing due to an accident). Now my brain mixes up Malay, English, Japanese, Mandarin, Arabic, Korean and Sign Language so badly that I can barely speak one language fluently. There are moments where I had to stop mid sentence and think about the word i want to say in a specific language. Its frustrating af

Oh wow, I think she's right! I dream a lot and vividly but while people in my dreams "communicate" they don't actually "speak". I didn't think about it till now. Like I can never tell you what exactly someone said word for word but it's always been said. Uh, maybe a better way to describe it is this. Film a scene, then edit out people taking so it constantly skips to the moment right after they were talking when the information has already been communicated and received. The moment after each sentence all strung together on their own. I think that's how speaking works in my dreams.

The thing about Josh's english accent is so true 😂😂 When I first knew Josh is British, I was so surpirse. He didn't sound like british to me at all. Then after watching so so many videos of him, I realizes sometimes he speaks in british accent, sometimes in american accent and sometimes I'm just being confused which accent is. Even now I hardly acknowledge him being a british since the way he talks, interviews others is so korean, even when he talks in english 🙂 Being multilingual is fun. I myself am not growing up in foreign country but since I watch a lot of english, korean, chinese dramas, tv series, movie, shows, etc..., sometimes I do think or speak in other languages (not much). It's like in that moment I find it's easier to express in that language than using my mother language

This is actually really funny. Sometimes I can't tell if I'm speaking in English or Korean with my husband and vice versa 😂 the other day I was in a Korean mart in Australia and I was walking around seeing what they had and suddenly I thought "did I read that in English or Korean" but for some reason I felt really stupid cuz I don't know when I'm using which language 😅
