Myka Stauffer and her husband James
Adopted a son and now have gone deranged
Rehomed their son Huxley, they thought he was strange
And now they up in crying, like they're both in pain
I dont believe it cos bro i dont care
Biological or not, it dosent seem fair
to give away what you vow to cherish and love
youve angerged the youtube gods from above
and so we rain down on these two people
real families to me are not regeal
you two tried to sound like the epitome of good
but ended up looking the essense of evil
Thank you

I'm actually really glad they gave Huxley away, because I can't imagine the life he would've had if they'd kept him. It was clearly never about Huxley from the start. He wasn't a child to them, he was a product. At least now, hopefully, he's with a family that will actually cherish him. That said, let me give anyone who's thinking of having kids a little advice: Your child might turn out gay, they might turn out trans, they might turn out gifted, they might be mentally challenged, they might be born with a physical deformity/disability, they may develop depression, autism, cancer, etc., and they may turn out being far more expensive than you expected. If you aren't willing to accept them for who they are and be prepared for anything ... don't have kids, whether biologically or through adoption. All children deserve parents, but not all parents deserve children.

THANK YOU. Preach this. I don’t know if I’ll ever have kids, being autistic myself and having chronic mental health issues. I don’t want to bring a child into this world if I can’t support them and be the parent they deserve. A child isn’t a product to consume, or a few ups and downs. Human life is so unbelievably complex from day one, and to bring a child into this world is to promise you’ll do your absolute best to support and love them.

I don’t think anyone is arguing that they should have kept him. It’s more that they shouldn’t have gotten him in the first place. The kid got ripped from his homecountry, given a shitty white people name, had to adapt to a new culture and language, didn’t get the help he needed, started forming a real bond with his mom and dad and then got abandoned again. The damage is already done, a new family is a lesser evil at best.

This lady made me so angry back when this stuff came out. I have autism and the way she talked about him like he should have an easy disorder so she can be his savior was so gross. Her saying that he didn't smile much like that was a major issue.... According to my parents, I didn't smile at all for an entire year when I was 11. They didn't disown me because they didn't understand me. They did their best to help me and find doctors to help me. I am able to pass as someone who does not have a disorder because I was given so many therapy sessions and after school lessons to teach me how to emote and understand facial expressions. These people adopt a baby knowing it will be hard, they have the money to help him, and they were still so disgusting. They called him their family, what bullshit. Family takes care of family and does their best to get them the help they need. As an autistic adult, they disgust me and my heart goes out to Huxley.

as someone who has actually been through the foster to adopt process with my little brother (who has his own disabilities but he is the most awesome little dude and it makes me sick to think about 'returning' him), I can tell you there are a number of red flags for me straight off the bat. 1) when you start the foster to adopt process one of the very first things they clarify is what age range you're able/willing to foster so her excuse that she wouldn't be able to "land a youngster" is bullshit. she would just have to be clear that she only wanted a child under a certain age. 2) you don't have to take a placement if you don't want to. so even if she got called and asked to take a child outside of that age range she would be fully within her right to say no. 3) MOST IMPORTANTLY: if she did do foster to adopt, she would not be able to put that child on camera AT ALL until the adoption was complete. they're very, very strict about protecting the privacy of foster children especially very young kids. so clearly it was important to her that she would be able to violate a child's privacy for views. she wanted to have her fun white savior moment and when it stopped being fun she dropped the kid like a sack of potatoes. her behavior honestly disgusts me. i hope she's never allowed to adopt again.

This story makes me think back to the Child of Rage documentary, about the couple that adopted a young girl and her baby brother and the girls birth parent(s?) had sexually abused her and really messed her up mentally. It was scary for the adoptive parents but they adapted and got her professional help and she’s now like in her 30s or 40s and is a fully functioning adult with a job and everything. Like... you can’t know what to expect with kids, whether it’s adoption or pregnancy. Adapt and be a real parent, it’s hard but it’s up to you.

As a Chinese adoptee, most orphaned children in China are female. The orphaned children who are male are almost always disabled in some way. My parents had to wait 4 years to get approved to adopt my younger sister (also from China) Also, in China, for the most part... you don't choose the baby. (Unless you're looking into adopting a disabled child, in which they will have you look into which disabilities you are able to tend to.)

You know, I recall when I first heard about this a little over a year ago. I was angry then. Now that I volunteer with kids that have different delopmental problems, including autism, I'm f-ing pissed. These kids are just as rewarding to work with as regular kids if not more so because they have more struggles in life but they live up to the expectations of regular kids if not surpass them because they don't give up just because things are harder for them. One of them just graduated high school and is going to college. Absolutely disgusting anyone would take on the challenge of a special needs kid only to use him as a prop. People are sick! Edit: and I gotta say, as a Christian who was taught to take care of the orphans, we can kick these guys out. I don't care how that sounds, they are leaches in ladybug clothing trying to suck all your money out on their channel. I hate it when people mention God just to appeal to my community.

That's what really bugged me about how they talked about adopting always saying "I want" "we want" it all felt and sounded like they were picking and choosing what benefits them instead of going with their gut and heart and seeing how they can help a kid that really needs the love and good family and environment. Even with the whole "family line" that shouldnt matter sure it might be difficult but that's why you communicate and apply the same rules and not treat some better than others bc at the end of the day they all gonna be your kids and only the responsibilities they have is what changes (chores, privlages like having a phone bc older in age, etc) it's not like they will be playing favorites with them.

As an autistic child, I was watching how they were interacting with the child. Now I'm not a doctor nor a psychologist; I am justing using my experience with my autism. Firstly, airports can be very stressful as they are extremely loud; instead of maybe putting some headphones on him to noise cancel or mute chatter, you can see the distress and discomfort from how he's looking around as if he's trying to understand everything he hears-secondly, the touching of the face. Touching can cause distress and discomfort and activate flight or fight responses, especially near the face. Being nonverbal is relatively common; I didn't start talking till I was four years old, so Huxley was utterly ordinary in his differences. They should have done the research and learned how to help Huxley cope instead of acting as if they could cure it, even in 2015 (when I was diagnosed) a bunch, millions, fuck it, trillions of resources to assist in raising and caring for autistic children.

Dude, me too! I’ve had exactly 25 surgeries since I was 12 (I need at least 2 more in my large intestines but I live in America, AKA I can barely even afford my meds) and Idk even how many nights I’ve spent in a hospital, over 100 at least. My longest stay was 4 weeks, where I had one planned surgery (whipple, it’s a major surgery) and I was only supposed to be there 5 days, but ended up having 2 more emergency surgeries do to a lung collapse. ANYWAYS, my point is, I never stayed ONE night alone, my mom was there every single night, she literally lived at the hospital with me and couldn’t visit home because it was almost 3 hours away. I remember on the pediatric ward there were so many babies and children that the nurses held constantly because they didn’t have any family there. I’m 23 and still can’t live on my own thanks to my crippling pain and nausea, and poor health. I would have gave up on me a long time ago (I kinda have), so idk how she or my grandmother does it. And our parents didn’t even choose to have a sick kid! Myka and her cuck husband went out of their way to get a disabled child so they would look better!! Htf does someone deliberately take in a sick child for life and just get rid of it after 3 years??

How did people support them adopting a child when the husband claimed he "didn't want to get too attached" and Myka said she wanted it to be part of "their story" ?? Did they ever mention looking into the cultures of these children and how to prepare for them feeling misplaced in a white family so they know how to make them feel accepted and embrace their culture? I assume they didn't, seeing as I've heard they didn't want to make Huxley any food that would be familiar/comforting to him. Why did they land on china in the end? They never explained their thought process on the cultures or what they were educating themselves on to handle the adoption, just vague blanket statements. My parents adopted a baby and unfortunately had the birth mother take them away so I know this is a heartbreaking thing that can happen and would be hard to handle, but it rubbed me the wrong way to hear him say that. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt that he just meant he didn't want the possibility of having the child taken away from them, but then this rehoming situation makes no sense to me then.

I think that it's understandable to have an "ideal" child in mind while adopting. The thing is, good parents are willing to look at children outside of that range. Being mindful of a child's health needs is also really important. Not every family could afford the doctor and/or behavioral health visits a child with higher needs might need. It's sad that not every special needs child can have a proper home, but it's better is the adopting family recognizes that.

They didn't adopt a kitten. They adopted a child, you don't just give him back because you can't handle him, you knew he had problems, you took on the responsibility, and you failed that child, and your own child as well, because she lost her brother. You did it all for publicity. Give the child back all the money you got from him being on the show. Oh and I would never give back a kitten if I adopted one.

Hey man, I’m binging all your older videos since I’ve watched all your latest, and what you said at the end about your medical struggles hit home with me. I too have shared that experience and put my parents through the wringer at hospitals my entire childhood. Hell, into adulthood! I was in an accident at 24 that broke my neck and forced me to move back home. My mother had to help me shower for years until I was able to get the surgeries I needed and built back up my abilities and relearned how to take care of myself with my new restrictions. I’ve passed 30 now and still need their help thanks to some major fuck ups with insurance leaving me more disabled through lack of care. If it weren’t for my parents being good parents I would have been homeless years ago and likely would no longer be alive. I know someone who went through that because her parents had the “you’re over 18, we don’t have to help you anymore” mindset. She k*lld herself after two years of couchsurfing and living on the streets while trying to navigate her new life in a wheelchair. Signing up to be a parent means signing up to be there for someone no matter what. Especially when you’re making that choice so very blatantly like in an adoption. This wasn’t some “I didn’t know I was pregnant” shit where she gave birth on the toilet and they had zero ability to prepare. This was a year(s) long process where they affirmed and reaffirmed wanting this poor kid every step of the way. I have memories from being in the hospital at his age. Of my mom fighting for my medical care. It breaks my heart to think of the memories he’ll have when he’s older and the trauma he’s going to have to work through. I guess the only bright sides are that he is in a family now that will actually take care of him the way he deserves (hopefully), and that when he’s older and questioning back on all this he can watch the videos and see that it wasn’t his fault, and that the entire internet stepped up to say as much. You and I, we’re the lucky ones. Life may have thrown us a shitton of curveballs, and believe me when I say I fully understand how difficult health problems can be; how much they can affect every damn facet of your life. But I would rather have all these issues and a mother (& father) who love and genuinely care for me through thick and thin, than be perfectly healthy and without loving parents, knowing that I’m ultimately on my own. ❤

The true sad part in all of this is that the Stauffer's didn't go threw the agency that been involved with him getting adopted. The Stauffer's got to pick where or who he was re-homed to. Just like a dog. The agency found out when the story broke. This poor child didn't deserve any of this, while they get to keep the profit from the Huxley videos.

This is so disgusting and sad. They adopted, not fostered... you can’t just give back someone you’ve adopted. I’m sure they would never think about “giving up” their biological children.... you covered this issue really well 👏🏻

"We were respecting his privacy for ONCE and didn't want to mess anything up!" Translation: We were going to ignore it hoping you guys would forget but since you guys won't shut up we'll make a "pity me" video. They knew about his disabilities but thought he would make them look good as parents but tossed him when he showed their true colors. Also, she said she took on a kid with disabilities BECAUSE she was a RN which it turns out she sucked at. Funny enough, she had her own son around the same time she "re-homed" Huxley and her son will smile at the cameras on command.
