Dealership quoted me $1700. They said the cable would cost $700. Then of course the labor and whatever else. The parts cost me $100, yes, they are Toyota genuine parts! And I did it! The door works! Thanks for the tutorial.

Fixed my 2015 Sienna today. Video was to the point and got the job done quick. Thank you! As a side note for other DIY folks if you carefully pry the rear cable attachment shroud up you can squeeze a extention and 10mm socket under it with out breaking the plastic.

I love it. It's just what we need to keep our trusty 2011 Toyota going. After my wife notified me that the sliding door wouldn't open even in manual mode. This video gives me an idea of exactly what I need to get the job done. I bought the part from the local Toyota for $35CAD. Since I could barely open the door I had to open the rear window so I could cut the cable and open the door fully. Since it just started snowing here I will wait until it warms up so I can replace the cable. BTW, Nice WRX you got in the garage! I had a 2013 WRX. It was the most raw and fun car for winter driving.

This video was fantastic. Just replaced the driver's side cable assembly on our 2017 Sienna. You made it very easy to follow along and it took me less than an hour even with pausing and doing the steps that way. Thanks!

I can’t thank you enough. I really love When people show others how to do things I have a jeep that I take four wheeling and I’ve replaced about everything myself I was able to fix this for $39 and exactly the amount of time you said it works perfectly. The main thing is people shouldn’t be afraid to try that when they see a $1700 price tag they’re afraid to even try it fearing they will cause more damage. I can’t say thanks enough for your channel and what it does.

Dealership charged my mom $1500 to fix her Passenger Rear sliding door when it stopped working completely. Good to known its relatively DIY. Been working on cars here and there so I can definitely tackle this issue if it happens in the future for the rear driver sliding door. Thanks!

A+ video! This helped me through the same repair today. The only difference I had is that my sliding door was stuck shut, so I had to use a small offset Philips screwdriver to get off the screw holding on the door trim, and cut the wires from the old assembly that were binded up inside the door before being able to open it. Thanks so much!

Top notches on your demonstration, my 2011 sienna xle sometimes this happens, but for most part, its sliding fine. Usually around this time my alarm also goes off randomly, after locking the car. Maybe it has something to do with this, I’m thinking the sensor is bad, and the computer thinks the door is not closed, I have a history code B2223 and B2224. For both sliding doors. I don’t know if previous owners replaced the part or not. Seems like they didn’t. I will try this demonstration, thank you so much bro.

Thanks for the helpful video...As expected I snapped my Door Slide Rail Moulding (68374-08020) clips, I was too cheap and cut flat the back upper clip portion that cracked, added velcro. The front portion cracked as well, but I was able to just put velcro right on it. Worked perfect. My 2015 AC is starting to go to, I will probably try the TOYOTA SIENNA UAC - EX10477C - Control Valve Assembly after market replacement onto the compressor first. Thanks!

Did passenger door today. Tips: roll down the sliding door window, as he mentioned. The rear panel breaks, as expected, so order a new one before starting. My battery seemed to get low and the door did not operate after I finished and replaced the door panel. This seemed to fix itself after running the car to pick up the kids. So, as I did the drivers side last spring, if one goes, perhaps just go ahead and do the other side before it breaks.

The 2 bolts that attach to the upper rear door slider rail brace are M6 X 1.0 X 25, part #90080-10252. Using a screwdriver to loosen and tighten these 2 bolts may be the best way to do so.

Man, lesson learned today. Don't take that white protector piece off of the spindle thing until the very end. Took it off right away, the coils unspooled, clearly didn't put it all back together right, darn thing blew itself up and broke all the plastics with the first use.

Hi there I have a 2004 Toyota sienna handicap ramp van, and the cable in the sliding door has snapped 3 times in 2 years and every time they fix it , it’s $1500.00 so now the door doesn’t open and the ramp can’t come down so I am stranded. my question to you is can we remove the cable which is connected with the ramp, and install a cable and motor in the door so it can open separately, please help thank you.
@FamilyDIYtv5 ай бұрын
If it the sliding door cable - yes. See in the video exactly how to do it on either end. If it really broken just cut the cable. If it’s for the ramp - I don’t know. But I’d follow the cable and expose where’s it’s attached and see if you can unhook it …. Good luck
