FamiStudio 1.2.0 has been released! FamiStudio is a DAW style music editor for the original Nintendo Entertainment System.

Hi, I've been loving this software ever since I got it! It's exactly what I wanted and I finally found the right software! Amazing work! I just have a few questions, how do the "DPCM samples" work? How do you change the instrument type? And How does one make a drumbeat?

Hey thanks. Have you checked out the 10 min tutorial on the channel? kzbin.info/www/bejne/labRnayIodiVma8 Also there is some documentation on the wiki of my GitHub page. That's probably the best place to start. github.com/BleuBleu/FamiStudio/wiki DPCM samples are assigned to notes on the piano by clicking the little sample in the instrument list. But FamiStudio doesn't provide any way of editing the sample waveforms. You can only import them. You can edit samples with a bunch of tools like Famitracker, RJDMC, etc. Im not sure what you mean by change the instrument type? The list of instrument is on the right, select one and click in the piano roll to add notes. But that's probably not what you are asking.

Hi Mathieu! before nothing, thanks for this soft, is a great tool and i use a lot. I wondering if is a way to create loops of more than 1 pattern, i mean, if i select 4 patterns for linstening the chorus in a cyclical way at the moment only repeat the last one selected. Hi thanks! First of all, you are commenting on a VERY old version, i hope you are using the latest :) Let me try to understand the question, you are asking if there is a way to repeat a section of the song that is in the middle? This is just wonderful!!! thank you! one request for the mac version, could it be CMD+Z to undo and CMD+Y to redo? because almost all mac software use the CMD button for commands instead of the ctrl button. Thanks again!!!

Oh that's a good point. I am no Mac expert (I bought a Mac mini to do the port). I will try to do this for version 1.3.0. Let me know if you find other issues with the Mac version. Not a lot of people are using it.

It seems it need win10 minimum os? Any chance to see a win7 version? Thr 1.1.0 is running fine. Maybe i recheck, thanks for sharing!

Hey man! I think someone else on twitter mentioned this. Just to clarify, you are saying 1.1.0 was working fine on win7 and then 1.2.0 stopped working? If that's the case, its totally not intentional and will fix this as soon as I understand the situation. *** EDIT: Could you give version 1.2.1 a try and let me know? I think I have fixed the issue.
