The sad thing that everyone who actually skates knows that once you get past kickflip besides other skateboarders nobody cares. People actually forget that it’s actually a craft/skill that takes persistence and consistency over years to become decent at and it’s sport that literally has no end. pros that have been skating a lifetime that still still know there is still so much progression to be made. It would be similar to me picking up a violin and saying I’m going to learn how to play this in an hour

i knew someone who learned kickflips before they rolled around. he learned to kickflip regular and when he finally rode around he realized he was goofy, so dude could only switch flip.

Not saying it's right, but when I got my first board, I hard trouble standing on it, so I did this and whipped around the e board on my hands and knees until I could stand and ride. For me it helped, but definitely not recommended, lol.

i ollied second try on a curbed no-name board at 26. didn't have much pop but all wheels cleared the ground. HOWEVER, i did attempt to skate a few times in life prior (nothing beyond pushing and riding, was learning to nose manual lol) and had been obsessed with skating since i was 10. so i would say depending on how much you observed prior to getting on the board, you can learn to skate in one hour. i had been watching parts, contests, reading magazines, playing video games, watching basically all kinds of skate content on youtube and ig for at that point 16 years already. do i count as a skater? idk. someone who doesn't follow skateboarding probably could not learn the very fundamentals of skating in an hour. btw i'm 32 now and an unrelated injury/illness fucked my range of mobility so even if i wanted to skate again, it seems unlikely. heartbreaking tbh. maybe i will take up fingerboarding.

I can only ollie stationary when I've tried and pop shove I used to try in the barn , I'm 29 now and got into bike and scoot as a kid but never got into skate . I'm so glad the stupid rivalries have died out we used to hate on skaters and vice versa for some odd reason " Oh look man a fking wood pusher" xD I would love to see you and R-Willy do a collab 2 crazy aussies bmx and skate together
