Clearly an ego driven response. Either way what hes saying is true for almost any sport. Everyone learns things at different paces. Learning any new tricks is really about understanding the movements and pushing through that fear of failing/falling. I used the internet for the steps and broke them down into understandable sections instead of just trying to do it mindlessly. For an olli popping the tail starts the initial lift off the ground, sliding the foot raises the tail further into the air(make sure you really let your ankle roll so the side of your shoe can make contact with the grip tape), lift both legs evenly levels out the board, then stick the landing. If I gave any new skaters advice it would be to take full advantage of the internet, look up tutorials, and try to understand each action and what its purpose is in the trick.

Some “posers” might just be too intimidated to ask for help on how to learn. Yes of course plenty of videos online, but sometimes people prefer learning with someone. So who knows. Maybe that poser is just to shy to ask “how the hell do I do this?”. The real question is why are they posing? Because skateboarding is cool!

Over 10 min in the vid but distracted by the roller skate comment, it’s highly unlikely that you could throw on skates and jump down a 5-step on day one. I’ll assume you may have been exaggerating slightly, but even then, it was a weird and unnecessary comparison to prove that skateboarding is difficult, takes time to learn, and involves a lot of technique. + frontside stair jumps on roller skates aren’t really comparable to any noteworthy skateboard OR roller skate tricks, which both range from rotations, airs, manual variations, inverts, grinds and slide, transition tricks to coping tricks to flat tricks and every thing in between and around…we respect you. Respect us.
