Uncle Buck is my all time favorite movie. That whole scene with that principal is some of the funniest comedy ever. It's a total classic. And I totally agree that he would have won an Oscar. He was my very favorite actor.

Yes and I loved, Only the Lonely. The late Maureen O'hara played his mother. That movie was funny as hell!!! Also, I do believe John would've won an academy award had he lived. He was phenomenal in JFK.

As much as we all loved his movies, when I think of John Candy I always think of that super Bowl where the 49ers beat the Bengals. 2 minutes left, Niners are down, Joe Montana goes into the huddle as cool as can be and asks the team, "Hey, isn't that John Candy sitting over there?" They drive right down the field, score a touchdown and win the championship. Awesome stuff!

John Candy is still one of my favorite actors. He's the only celebrity that I actually cried over when he died. His movies have brought so much joy. Thank you for all the videos you've done on him. I've enjoyed them all. He's a real treasure. John Candy was so loved by everyone. I had the honor of meeting him, and hanging out with him a couple of times as well. It was during the filming of Blues Brothers in Chicago, and he was good friends with an actor I was dating at the time from The Second City. He was so lovely to me, and included me when he was around . On the day he passed away , I was in my car and heard it on the radio. I was so devastated, I had to pull over. I couldn’t stop crying. To this day, I get choked up watching any of his films. RIP, John.

At 75 my family still watches it together on thanksgiving. Awww I will always love & miss John Candy, there just aren't enough adjectives. I once heard someone describe him as "generous to a fault." So accurate of his big heart! Hands down Planes Trains & Automobiles but The Great Outdoors is a close second for me. Hello my friend, Firstly a big thank you for visiting this stunning cemetery is beautifully kept………. I love all kinds of films for as long as I can remember and the comedy planes trains and automobiles is an absolute gem of a film with two great actors Steve Martin and John candy. You really couldn’t ask for better, the chemistry was absolutely spot-on between the two and there is no doubt in my mind this is my favourite comedy to date. There is no one who could replace such a kind hearted man and you would be right in saying well you didn’t know John candy……….. that is most certainly true but then again I didn’t have to know him as on or off movie sets and just in general you could clearly see this man had a heart of gold. Yes I am a stranger but will always remember this funny man who somehow left a lasting impression on me and today is no different.
