His role in sling blade was incredible. It's like he transformed every aspect of himself to become Vaughan, his looks, speech, southern accent, small town guy. Still my favorite role he ever did. Between him and Bill Paxton, two stars that left us way to early.

Thats the role i will always remember him by, definitely his best acting, and one of my all time favorite movies. You dont even think of Vaughan as John Ritter, its hard to describe, but a role where you dont realize who the actor is and he becomes that character in his soul, thats Vaughan. Every role in Sling Blade is perfect

Similar thing happened to me when I paid to meet Adam west and burt ward. Me and my friend got put in the wrong line and we waited 2 hours to learn that it was the wrong line the entire time. It was already 4 and it closed at 6 so there was no way he was going to get to us by then. not sure if they stayed to get through the line or not but we left with a refund of the meet and greet. Adam west died maybe 2-3 months later from cancer. Will always hold a grudge with that expo and their staff for that.

When John Ritter passed away at a young age, a lot was said about 8 Simple Rules and Three's Company but very few people recognized him as Rev. Fordwick on the Waltons. Many may have known and loved him for his comedic work. Little is said about his role on the Waltons. A role I loved to see play out on Thursday night in the early 70's. God Bless You Rev.
