Wow, thanks for the quick upload! I wasn't expecting you to make this video this early. This is a very good game, and it's certainly interesting to compare the playing styles of today to the first Meijin. I replayed it with my board last night and I missed a lot of the good moves you pointed out (such as Ohashi's opening his bishop's diagonal). Thanks for the commentary.

Hello Hidetchi. you alive buddy? wanted to thank you for this amazing channel Sensei! one thing about this video though: is not Soukeis King on Check from Sansas Bishop on 10:22? What's with that?

That check had just been dealt. It's black's turn to move and he removes the check at 11:02. That being said, some of the examples Hidetchi gives do not remove the check, so it seems that he failed to notice it.

Yes, that's exactly how the thinking time is for Meijin title match. But how about the games in the 17th century? I have no idea. I think that's what MEEP012 is asking.

Hon-inbou attack was really fierce at the middle game, really interesting :)

Of course, for example 2 days with 9 hours per day and 60sec for every move after this time (I think Meijin title matches are something like this). The last move of the first day is sealed. This is really interesting :)

Thanks. It's fixed now.

Can ANYONE tell me the mating moves after brinkmate? I am thinking about the mating moves after king escapes to 5a for 2 hours and still can't find it. Can ANYONE, PLEASE?
Gareth Wilkes Oh.... I am both surprised by your moves and also that there are still some people watching this video.... Thanks a lot!!

nice video, but the variation you showed at 10:36 wouldn't work, since thaat pawn push is a check in the same time

By the way, in this video's description, you misspelled Soukei Ohashi's name as Souko.

Yes, but Honinbou Sansa was the founder of that house, so he did play shogi in his younger years, and was excellent, but he had to abandon it when he took the office of the Honinbou house.
