For its time, without a doubt, one of the best B/W from that decade.

Awesome list!! Always thought those 2 westerns with Willie Nelson in them were a little off beat: "Barbarosa" with Gary Busy and "Red Headed Stranger" with Morgan Fairchild. The first one could be considered a fun tragic adventure and the other a journey into darkness and back. Then there is Jack Nicholson's "Goin' South", kind of odd one there.

Everything with Gary Busey is a little off beat.

Good group of films here. You’ve got a couple of shots of another Gary Grimes western (The Spikes Gang with Lee Marvin) in your Culpepper Cattle Co. segment. Both good westerns. The director of Seven Men From Now pronounced his name “Bet-uh-ker.” I’d love to see more of your list of offbeat westerns. Good topic.

Coogan's Bluff. Susan Clarke keeps asking "what's the sound of one hand clapping". Gets her answer when Woody Stoud slaps her. Richard Boone's role in Hombre was reprised in Big Jake. Different character name but same demeanor. A really offbeat western could be Man in the Widerness. Richard Harris, John Houston. The Revenant before the Revenant. Same basic story. One movie list channel, Ciniflix iirc, rated Star Wars as the greatest western ever.

It’s still waiting for you to include “The Man Who Loved Cat Dancing” starring Bert Reynolds. It would have fit in here very well.

Interesting selection of films. If you want to watch a really "Off Beat" western check out 1973's 'Kid Blue' with Dennis Hopper, Warren Oates, Peter Boyle and Ben Johnson.

Just an opinion........In my 60 years of westerns the most useless overrated western actor is definitely L V CLEEF. 2nd rater.
