Fanatec CSL GT DD Pro. Was it worth the wait?

Love my Cammus C5. Took 9 days from china. All in one box. Unmarked box. Well, it said cammus. But no photos of product for porch pirates. Duuuh fanatec? Emailed them about shipping costs and the responded next day with a 15% discount. Pretty much paid for shipping.

I am glad that I got my order. And at no point did I think I wasn’t going to get it. My frustration lies with poor customer service. I highlight that poor customer service. These are things people need to know. It doesn’t get said enough.

@JoeyBagZ it actually "gets said" like 20% more than positive feedback, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't share your experiences either. I'm not knocking you for saying what you've said in the last few vids, and I appreciate that you feel you're speaking for a whole bunch of other people, in the same shoes as you. I was just warning you from losing yourself in the infectious nature of negativity. As long as you're not depriving yourself of the good, then all good. And I mean, even then, it's your choice how positive you wanna be, but I wouldn't be a decent human if I also didn't say something, and just let you go on in a potentially unaware state of perpetual negativity. I hope that makes some sense. I'm just looking out... I hate the idea that you're not getting joy out of your DD wheel base, so I just said what I said in case you needed to hear it

@@GregoryShtevensh I can understand you POV, I do speak about fanatec with much negativity because of my purchasing experience with them, I have mentioned in previous videos I will be at odds with myself when I finally do test out the fanatec equipment. If it’s fantastic I will not be disingenuous and bash it, I will be honest, it still doesn’t change my thoughts on their communication or customer service. Plenty of less than ideal companies make great products, and I will highlight that. But if the equipment is genuinely bad, then it will compound with the poor communication and customer service. I have had wonderful experiences with PXN and their customer service and communication. I genuinely enjoy my PXN v12 Lite. I have had great experience with cammus, and am genuinely enjoying using the C5. I genuinely enjoy my Moza Racing R5, haven’t needed to contact them for anything, and my purchase was from a reseller on Amazon. My gripe with Fanatec is their lack of communication and customer service, it’s something they have a history with and something that needs to change.

@@GregoryShtevensh in these ages, it is a lot easyer to be negative than to actually be positive. i have said the following to a lot of people: " eat less lemon, drink less vingar, you might actually find out that there is joy to be had in life" this pissed them off but i dont care, its their problem. i spend my life enjoying every day, i tell myself the following every day: a day without laughter, is a day not worth living. hence why i always try to bring joy in peoples life, even if its a small laugh, i feel like "missions accomplished". however, it does not mean that im not pissed or negative, i just dont enjoy living like that and laughter is such an enjoyable emotion ;)

It's not rocket science, it's well known that Fanatec are a victim of their own success. The golden rule when purchasing from them is to avoid making purchases immediately after a new product launch. It's not ideal, but patience is required. I would also advise against buying a newly released product, wait a year, Fanatec will have ironed out early production ìssues and you'll probably have a better experience. When they are busy though expect long wait times, but this is a reputable company and they will get to you. Some of their kit is very expensive but from personal experience their midrange has some gems.

Hey bud I received my $3000 order Saturday. This was my second time ordering from fanatec and yes they had me sweating. Their packaging is always superb double boxed no complaints there. But like you I don’t think I’ll be doing this again, well not big purchases anymore. I’m now sitting on Moza r12 with fsr wheel I purchased locally at my micro center. The r12 looks like a beast. The shaft -no mo- is massive lol compared to fanatec. Reason why I re order all my sim gear from fanatec was Moza is still not compatible with console or need for speed. I play every kind of games making fanatec eco important to me. I’m debating on keeping them both.

I completely understand. I’m in the same boat. I’ll know what direction I’ll go when I test the fanatec stuff. I am glad you got your order in. Quite honestly I don’t think any one has to be worried about getting their items, unless there was a computer glitch that lost the order, which hasn’t happened. It’s more the total lack of communication concerning the delay. Like I have said countless times had Fanatec emailed me to let me know they were slammed all would have been forgiven, but they chose not to. Now get your equipment set up and update me on your experience 👍🏼. Have fun.

This is all I hear on most reviews across all platforms.... oh its OK it could be better..... hahahaha most of the products available these days are absolutely awesome 👌🏻 but no it's just never enough. If it was a part for going into space it would probably need to be better, but people these are sim racing components. Let's be real , This stuff is adequate for video games

Ok, so I think I just watched the video you are talking about. My power supply is 180w unit. The replacement base that PXN sent me I just checked and it has the 120w psu. Why they made that change I am unsure of. I will reach out to my contact at PXN and follow up. Now back to the video you are talking about. I don’t know what they did with their pedals. They did something wrong because mine look nothing like that. I assembled mine correctly. They have been great pedals. Better than the set that came with my Moza R5 bundle. I can’t say better than Fanatec because I haven’t used my Fanatec pedals yet. The test they did turning the wheel and just holding it there, I have no idea why you would do that, and if you hold it like that it will generate heat, and the base disconnecting was probably it trying to save itself. I have never had my base do that. The whole video seems like it’s flawed and they just wanted to bash PXN. Remember drama gets views. People will click on a review bashing or talking shit about a product faster than a reviews praising it. And if you make a review praising a product, people are quick to call you a shill, or disingenuous. Like I have said before I love my PXN but I have also been transparent about the issues I have had. PXN replaced my base because of an issue where it went into what I can best describe as a “deep sleep” and it took a few steps to get it back up. It did this to me 2 times and never again. The issue with it disconnecting while playing GT7, I reached out to PXN and they think it’s a faulty N5 dongle and are sending me a new one to test. I can understand you apprehension about getting into any ecosystem. I honestly don’t think there is any ideal situation. If you are Pc only there are so many good setups available, your biggest hurdle will be budget. And if you are console only, your main hurdle will be compatibility then price.

Hey there. Do you have an issue with the PXN v12 lite where when you press the accelerator the clutch also is being “pressed down”? Do you have a fix to this or do I just have fauly pedals. Thanks

I haven’t had that issue. Anytime I have an irregularity with pedals I just unplug them and plug them back in and it works. I also believe there is a reset button on the brake pedal near the rj45 and usb ports. If none of those fix the issue then I would recommend reaching out to PXN support.

You think I can attach an NRG quick release to the PXn v12 lite? Its compatible with the mozxa wheelbases but not sure if its compatible with PXN @@JoeyBagZ

@@angcharap5617 yes. If you look at some of my other videos, I have a NRG QR I ordered from Amazon that I installed on my 13” wheel and I use that on my V12 Lite.

Thanks, My QR just came in today. Have you noticed the issue that the holes are not aligned to white strip on the pxn v12lite qr base? I dont know if this is an issue to be worried about but I was worried that when my wheel would arrive that it would be off center.@@JoeyBagZ

Lol for the fanatic fanboys those are fighting words lol. Fanatic is the end all be all 😂😂😂. There seems to be more good said about the quality of the wheels and wheel bases then bad. Yes there is bad, lots of complaints, but more words of praise for their quality. And yes I do know quite well all the complaints about the input shaft of the CSL DD and DD Pro coming lose and causing all types of issues. Yet I think the overall consensus is that Fanatec makes quality products, maybe not all of them.
