it's not as bad as some of the Asylum movies. In one of their zombie movies society fell at least a decade ago yet when the camera pans over a bridge there is a constant flow of traffic. There was also Navy Seals Vs Zombies. The city was supposed to be infested with zombies and no one alive yet you can see people shopping.

There is this zombie - vampire movie set in some inner city area. During one of the scenes there is a horde of zombie - vampire creatures who are rampaging, except for one who is super chill and taking a cigarette break. There's a deeper story here with that theatre. Clearly while the town was abandoned the theatre kept running. Once the post stopped being delivered they had to start making their own films to show based upon the films they already had. Sure each film only starred the 4 or so theatre workers that were trapped there, but the writing quality was there.

There needs to be a term for when movie characters refrain from using their overwhelming power until after they've already taken major damage or fought enemies using more difficult and dangerous methods. Like in the beginning of Phantom Menace when Neesons drops down off a higher level to fight a bunch of droids by hand, only to finish off the last few with a trivial little force blast. He could have done that while he was still lounging up top!

If 2021 is a sequel to 2020, I'd consider it the The Empire Strike Back of the series. Not in the sense it was better in general, but just from a movie-making standpoint, it built on a lot of the concepts already established in 2020 and it added its own unique twists in a way that kept things lively. I mean the opening scene in the first week alone, had you right on the edge of the your seat, and that's the kind of thing you want in a movie.

I mean I defy any of those clickbait factories to review something as esoterically awesome as "The Astrologist"..….which was robbed in the poll. The Pit is great but The Astrologer was soooii bizarre it sent me down a rabbit hole of gay teen lovers and scam companies in trying to figure out how it was made.

How are we the only 2 people to have noticed this? It wasn't even mentioned in the video and it's totally obvious that it was those two guys yet again 6 years later. People on KZbin are slipping with the obvious pop culture references lately.

As always, your videos lift my spirits for the rest of the day. :) I also have a suggestion for what you could review in the future: Future War. A movie from 1997 that could be described as a haphazard and hilariously indept mishmash of Jurassic Park, The Terminator and Universal Soldier. I'm not sure if I would describe it as so bad it's good, but it's definitely worth a place on your list of reviewed terrible movies. Take care!

As a 6 year old, this was the first movie I ever saw in theatres. I didn't know what was going on, I didn't know what story narrative even was or how to follow it, but I definitely knew those robots were miniatures and nowhere near the size to fit the humans in. 🙃
@Pocketrocket-pj1us

Wait, this movie had a theatrical run? It's not even feature length and most FULL MOON productions went straight to video. What city were you in at the time? You might be one of only a dozen people to see this movie on the silver screen, and that's pretty cool! :) Cheers.
@bentonrp

@@Pocketrocket-pj1us You know what, I'm sorry. I thought that this was Robot Jox. Especially when the title is "One of the Worst Movies of the 90s!" But as Mark started to review the clips, I said, "waitaminute... this isn't the same movie!; It's a much better one!" So maybe you're right that Robot Wars was never in theatres. I was a bit older in 1993 (than when I saw Robot Jox in 1990), and I don't remember seeing Robot Wars ever being shown. Sorry for the confusion! But what a nice trip down memory lane for me; We were dumb enough to think in the year 2000, some of these things might actually happen!; Flying cars, wars in space, android humans that look like robots, etc.

@FanboyFlicks, Another great episode, Mark! I always look forward to your new episodes and this one did not disappoint. I was surprised though that you didn't throw in any jokes or references to Karate Kid 2 since the guys that played the Eastern Alliance also played Uncle Sato and Chozen from Mr. Miyagi's hometown in KK2. Maybe this was an early attempt to create a cinematic universe where the characters would cross film genres. Maybe at the end of KK2, Sato and Chozen were cryogenically frozen and then thawed out in 2035 so they could rise to power, gain control of a giant robot, and then track down Mr. Miyagi and Daniel-San in order to exact some long-overdue revenge. Of course, that means Mr. Miyagi and Daniel-San would also have to have been frozen...okay there are a number of plot holes here but clearly, the makers of this film weren't trifled by such things. I might be grasping here. Oh well, great episode and keep them coming!
