I put a plastic bag on the end of the reducer using the gasket to keep the bentonite from running out when you roll the elbow over to hook up system, Thanks for the great content 🤙🏻👍

Plastic bags work great Mark. The issue we’re having here is that the lefties have done gone and banned ‘em!!! I was experimenting with strips of caution tape over the end of the hose, but it proved to be too strong and would cause a plug (as you may have seen in one of my more recent videos). Shotcrete has got to be one of my most favourite things to pour. Lots to keep tabs on during the pour, which helps the day go by quickly.

Try pools in CA. These people are crazy and there ideas they have. Last 1 I did had a river running through part of the house. You could actually get in the pool from inside the house and swim out. But hands down was the pool that had a fish tank and 4 inch plastic separating them and it would look like people were swimming with the fish. Must be nice to have crazy stupid money

It’s crazy how many people out there have A LOT of money… the kind of money that makes most athletes and actors look like they’re working for chump change. The best is when you’re working on a 25+ million dollar home and the owner pulls up in a ten year old Toyota Camry or Mini Cooper. From what I’ve seen with clientele over the years, many of the wealthiest folks can also be the most modest and humble.

@@canadianconcretepumper1979 that’s the understatement. I have a customer who is a big ceo. Monday through Friday looks like a million bucks. On the weekends or nights. Ripped jeans with a white t-shirt with spaghetti stains. You’d almost say he looks like a homeless bum half the time. As a matter of fact. George Lucas the first time I met him I almost mistakenly took him for a landscaper. House is old but nice. Yard is pretty but not overdone. But there are some rich out here that make Karen’s look nice. Ca. I hate it here.

I did a house once where we poured a 20ft waterfall that came in from a stream in the front, through the great room, and out past the pool the back ,then into the ocean.

@@dannpriebe that had to be something else. Very cool though. A customer whose home burned in 2017 fire. Next month I’ll be doing 3 cement slides. Each one goes to the kids room into the pool. Then apparently over the winter he came up with an idea of a very long zip line. I have yet to see the drawings. I’ll admit it’s fun to see the crazy things people come up with.

Almost a makes up for the ACPA Pump Rodeo title which I lost…. 😂😂😂

Not gunna lie...when i was running system every day, a ver long time ago, i kept a dewalt drill and a paint mixer in the cab. That allowed me to make different consistency bentonite for different footage of hose. Longer pushes, 700'+, i would have 3 or 4 different clamps i would put completely different looking bentonite in. Thicker in the hopper, thinner as i got further away. Personal record is 770', all rubber, no plugs, nothing but bentonite for a primer..

You don’t have to suck the sponges? I’m confused.
@canadianconcretepumper19793 ай бұрын
Typically on a line pour like this we will use compressed air to blow the sponge through the lines. Site logistics here however made flushing the lines with water more feasible in terms of minimizing the amount of mess left behind. It’s really a situational thing. Booms pumps we most always just suck back a sponge.

Cost to get the truck across the ferry

$205 CDN. return trip for the pump and us two operators.

@@canadianconcretepumper1979 Thats reasonable considering the weight.. Mind you, the belt added a few extra pounds.LOL
@canadianconcretepumper19793 ай бұрын
@@BZ1340 My thoughts as well, especially considering the cost increases seen to most everything else on this planet earth. This pump unit being only 26’ long definitely helps in keeping the cost down. Can’t remember exactly what we paid on our last trip in which we towed the trailer pump behind this same truck, but it was significantly more expensive. Also, the title belt being constructed from solid 24K gold definitely adds a good bit of heft to the gross vehicle weight 😂😂😂
