I've owned a couple of the older nashvilles, before Player. The Player (not plus) had a 42mm neck, unlike the older ones that there 43. Same for radius, they went to 9.5, and the plus came back to 12 like the older oneas. I found you because I moved to the Philippines, had to sell off the collection, bought (and sold) a Squier Tele... just wasn't enough. Looking to buy ONE guitar is all to haul around, and this is likely what I want. Was going to buy from Swee Lee, but then saw they aren't in PH, so I would have to pay duty. Very expensive here. But as a "one guitar that does it all", Yeah, this sounds like the right guitar for me. Belly cut and locking tuners seal the deal. The pickups? This 4th gen is acceptable, better than the old, which were dull sounding. Good video, thanks for putting it through the paces properly. About to move, again, to another island, and then looking to fly to Cebu or Manila and pick one up, hopefully butterscotch, or a good sunburst.

I have this guitar in blue. It gives you the traditional Tele sound and an option to change the tone by adding that middle pickup. It can really change a song in a hurry.

Magnificent playing on the player Jon. That’s one gorgeous colour and I loved the plethora of tones. I agree with you about the noiseless pickups. I fitted a set to my HB TE52 and they sound very good once you boost the mids a touch. Excellent as ever 😃👍🙏🙏❤️

Ridiculously good playing, sir! I really like that, unlike many reviewers, you spend a substantial amount of time demoing clean tones. Anyway, I have a 1999 Nashville Tele (3-burst), and I love its versatility. Can’t get the bridge/ neck combo, but for the kind of music I write I don’t miss that feature. Between it and my Epi Dot, I can dial in just about any tone I want. Again, fantastic video, and beautiful playing! 🤘🏾

Just bought the regular Player plus Tele and plan on putting different pickups and a brass 3 barrel bridge and it will still be cheaper than an American performer but with a better neck, modern feel and still get the traditional sound.

If you've got one of these, I highly recommend you check out the Free-Way 10-way switch. I have a G&L ASAT Classic S with alnico pickups. It's a great guitar, and the addition of the Free-Way switch brought it to a higher level.

Thans for the video! well explained and amazing playing (as always). I have previous Nashville Deluxe Tele, and I changed pot from 1mk to 250k, improving the sound a loooot! darker and thick for those Noiseless pickups. I hardly recommend it.

Really nice looking guitar. Great color ! Cool...3 pickups ! One of the things that bugs me about the Player Plus series is the fact they cannot even put a bone nut on a $1100-1200 guitar ? Jon, great review and playing. Noticed in the states that Fender is rewinding some of their wide-scale price increases, but still a bit high compared to many other offerings. To bad the only Fender with S/S frets will run you $2500++. Again great video.

Beautiful telecaster, well equiped. But I don't like the fretboard color, that PauFerro looks desperately dry. I used to have a beautiful US Deluxe tele, but I sold it because the noiseless pickups didn't give me the sound I like. Your playing make them pickups shining 👍

Beautiful Guitar Jon and sounds Great especially in you hands but over 8lbs is WAY TOO HEAVY for a Tele I’m sorry! I’ve been a tele player for years and if it’s much over 7.5lbs it’s too heavy! I’ve noticed lately that the Fender Telescope (except Custom Shop) are in the 8lb range. Don’t know what Fender is doing but they’re definitely getting heavier!! I recently purchased a fender aerodyne and it arrived with a wood crack between the neck and neck pick up. The guitar just got discontinued and won’t be restocked/is out of stock now and fender confirmed no more will be shipped to stores. Would it be worth keeping if I like the guitar? I got a partial discount total price down to 570 which is less than used which is 800-1000. I also considered one of these teles but don’t like the color. It’s same price used mint locally. Is it worth it to get and return the other or would it be fine to keep the aerodyne Strat? Idk if I can but I uploaded a few pics of the crack
