KZbin CC try’s to get the words all correct but a lot of times they don’t. So I really appreciate the time you have taken to type it all out for us! I LOVE YOUR WINGS!!! @@fancyfairyangela I have a quick question, I’m doing my own design and the veins fully wrap around the wing, so I was wondering for adding the wire if I need to do anything differently/modify the design, since I know yours just has a top wire then a tiny bit on the bottom as opposed to it being a continuous line all the way around ( I can show photos/concept art in an unlisted video if that would help ) Also thank you for making this, I’m glad that there is very beginner friendly tutorials while still getting a high quality result, I appreciate it 💛

Literally just made some wings today! There's definitely a bubble/loose area around the wire, but thats just the nature of a round wire. Got a good seal around the poster board I used and just trimmed around with scissors leaving like a .25"- 5" around the poster board just in case. Also was able to just use a home iron but definitely iron with an ironing board and a towel/pressing cloth with the cellophane half facing down. Other wise it'll melt and distort your cellophane (which actually kind of made a cool effect if you wanted to test it on scraps and use it on purpose). Now just gotta finish sewing the rest of my costume for the ren faire. Thank you for the tutorial!

I'm so glad this will help you out :D Please remember to change any of the designs slightly if they're my original designs, even if just for personal use it's better if there's a little variation so people can recognize they aren't the ones purchased directly from me and also so people don't jump to the conclusion that you might be wearing a knock-off purchased from another vendor - because there've been quite a few who have tried to sell copies unfortunately. It also makes them more unique to your own fairy character :)

Thank you!!!!!! I tried, tried, tried, tried for over a year and could not make my own wings I was happy with. I watched SO many tutorials too. I have this collection of projects that did not work. I finally decided I needed a cricut maker to try. I bought cricut maker in April. THEN could not find a decent pattern or vinyl. Ugh!! I literally have every single piece of equipment you have in your video and almost all supplies. Now that I have a pattern, I can finally make some wings. You have really made my day, week, month, year?? Thank you! ps: It wasn’t wasted time making all the “failed” projects because I learned a lot from those. 😁 I think we learn best from our failures anyway. So, they really aren’t failures.

@@fancyfairyangela this is so true! I've only ever found one seller that sold the standard pink-white-opal colour of angelina film in a wider roll suitable for making wings, but they didn't have any other colour and it was outrageously expensive 😅 You better believe I ordered myself a sheet of heat n bond vinyl today! 😂 I'll have to try it with a standard clothing iron though, because right now I don't have the funds for an easy press (they're also quite expensive outside of the US) but I am feeling motivated and I can't be stopped right now ^^ I checked the link above for "other colours" but there are no results 😅 just letting you know, in case you used the wrong link ^^ Thanks for replying! 🧡

Thank you so much!! I have admired your work for so long. I make wings, myself, but I enjoy hand-shaping my wings with wire and floral tape. I never thought to use electrical tape, I'll try it and see if I like it. It would definitely lead to less-sticky hands, ha! Also that heat-gun is the freakin best, I use the same one. One of the things I'm always on a hunt for is a more durable material than the one I've been using for years. I use Art Glitter Fantasy Film and though I absolutely love it, it can get a little brittle with too much heat, so that thermoweb iron-on vinyl might just do the trick. Thank you so much for sharing your artistry with us.
