This was back in the day where I was a kid without much access to the internet or game guides, so we really didn't know much about the game before playing it other than the magazine reviews which didn't give away spoilers. I thought I had finished the game and already had that feeling of "what will I do after this" only to find out I was only like half way through, blew my mind.

I really don't understand why Nintendo gave us such an amazing sequel with Gold and Silver and allowed us to go to a second region when NONE of the subsequent games allow us to do that. Seriously, when are we going to be allowed to do that again?

+Ray Muniz 1. Nintendo has NOTHING to do with Pokémon, except for offering it´s consoles for the real creators - Gamefreak 2. The games are made, so that they use most of the Space those cartridges can hold and use most of the RAM the Gandhelb can produce. It can´t handle double the amount. That´s also the reason, why both regions in GSC were farily small in progress and Kanto looked much smaller than in RBY - to save space. You would need double the space, which would be problably about 4 GB for coming games. This is a lot for a handheld 3. Both Generations would need to take place in a smiliar location or you have to fly to an older region, which would feel like "putted in just to satisfy someone". I would rather have a game, with some challenge and not a game, where the Champion is at about level 50. Because if you go to like Level 60 for the champ, the region would either grow slowly in level or the final challenge is at level 100.

I would argue that Golden Sun: The Lost Age is also at the same level of the greatest sequels to be done. It has the same concept as Gold and Silver but instead of fighting your team from the prequel, they join you with all their levels, gear, items, etc and you can go back to the area from the prequel. It was insanely good.

golden sun and TLA were incredible games! but i think TLA did a far better job as a sequel. the only comparable negatives between pokemon and golden sun is that golden sun's tutorial's and dialogue bits are a literal hell that not even pokemon-level hand holding can compete with.

This was propably my favorite generation. The Pokemon ideas still seemed fresh and good for the most part, the complete old region, lots of innovations, just great.
