If anything, Meddle is the most underrated album from their work. While Echoes is absolutely incredible and it carries the albums on its shoulders, the rest of the tracks, apart from Seamus imo, are utterly fantastic as well. Fearless is golden, A Pillow of Winds is one of the most relaxing songs ever made with a close 2nd being San Tropez later on, and the opener One of These Days is brilliant as well. @@PaulRobinsonOk Dub is rooted in reggae, and several of the tracks on the album are, by definition, reggae, or at least reggae fusion, with melodic lead bass, accented rim shot beats and one drop rhythms, and skanking rhythm guitar on the upbeats. Yeeeeeee Fishmans made it to the channel. Anyway, i was like Fantano and dismissed the reggae tracks at first but the more i listened to the album (aswell as hearing their other stuff that wasn’t Long Season or Uchu Nippon Setagaya) the more the reggae or rather dub tracks started growing on me hard. There is something about the playfulness of songs like Thank You or Hikouki that just gets me going. But overall tho, i am one of those people who think 98.12.28 is the best live album of all time. Not only for it being the last performance by Fishmans but also because every song just hits a chord with you. Whether it be the dreamy tracks like Night Cruising and In the Flight or the more expansive epics like Yurameki in the Air and Long Season. This album will always hold a special place in my heart and seeing it get more recognition outside of RYM and /mu/ makes me very happy. Sorry if i was overdoing it with the gushing. I’m just so in love with this album.

I'm just gonna have to mention my favorite album of all time here: Honeysuckle Strange by Howlin' Maggie. It got some critical attention for a very short while after its release in 1996, and a few of the tracks got some indie and alt-rock radio play, but its themes of self-destructive behavior, industry bullshit, frustration, and mental health are well-executed and eternal. If you are reading this, there is a chance you have possibly heard either "Alcohol" or "I'm a Slut", but I'd implore anyone with even a passing interest in 90's alt-rock to give the album a full listen as it is a masterclass in cohesion of the seemingly disparate elements of grit and haunting.

AGREE with Chinese Democracy! I was getting into GNR during late-middle school early-high school when CD came out. I obviously expected it to be nothing like the original GNR sound, but there are some great ballads on there (Catcher In The Rye, Better, Shackler's Revenge, There was a Time). Obviously some misses and agree with some odd industrial style attempts, but it's not a "bad" album at all. Axl still sings his ass off.

As much as people loved to hate Limp Bizkit, their debut album is insane and immensely underrated. The riffs by Wes Borland, the funky basslines of a then teen Sam Rivers along with his cousin John Otto with some tight drumming. In my opinion, at least in a song to song basis, Chinese Democracy is the second best GNR album. Sure it is super self indulgent and the production is overblown, but I love the sense of Axl Rose being the perfectionist madman that spent 14 years making the product that comes out in the various sounds of the album. Also I feel like it's the most personal sounding one which notches its score up for me, for where Axl kind of has in the early albums a tone and even lyrical choice more defined by the mythos of the late 80's rockstar, he then just stopped giving a fuck entirely and put himself out there as much as a withdrawn character like himself could. You especially hear this on the song, "This I love" where it sounds like a cinematic orchestral industrial beauty and the beast and "Street of Dreams" which sounds like if Guns n Rose's tried to make a Bon Jovi/Journey/Metalcore crossover. Even though his raw emotional performances on some songs are kinda clumsy, I still am somewhat admirable of the artistic risk in it. And lastly for me at least there is way less filler on the tracklist compared to Use Your Illusion 1 and 2 even though no one can deny that UYI has the better best songs. Its definitely an album that grew on me over the years even though there were songs I liked right away like "There was a Time" and "Better", and I now hold a fond appreciation for it. I think over the years the reception will grow up but who knows. I do see why people out there would not like it I will say that.

Hail Mary Mallon - Are You Gonna Eat That? People always say Aesop Rock is underrated/underground... yea, about as much as MF Doom is... lol. By this point, everyone's heard of him. But him, Rob Sonic and DJ Big Wiz have a really fun album here that I don't think gets a lot of airtime. the pillows - My Foot / Pied Piper Most people know them as the band that played throughout the anime FLCL. Yep, whether you like or dislike anime, don't hold that against them :D These 2 albums are absolutely full to the brim with guitar riffs and bass lines you will have stuck in your head for days. Tunes so simple and catchy I'm surprised they were the first to write them. Really fun to play on guitar/bass (I cant speak for drums). Bonus. Magma - Udu Wudu I can't do the special characters in the album title, oh well. Its good. Listen to it from start to finish. It has a weird shamanic trance-like quality in it with repetitive syncopation. Its from the 70's from a French prog rock band that sing in a language they made up, with music ranging from Soul, Funk, fusion and more and all coming together in a nice little weird conceptual space rock opera package... I guess... if I had to label it. A lot of their other albums get more credit than this one. Oh and if it helps you give it a shot, I think Death Grips have sampled something from this record in one of their tracks.

Rick Wright in general is way too underrated. He doesn't get enough credit as a keyboardist and a songwriter, which I don't get because he was the backbone of PF if you ask me.

Wow, that album must incredibly obscure. I'm a huge Sinéad fan and seek out all of her collabs, and I've never heard of this album once in my life. It's not for sale on itunes and amazon has it for like $90, or $50 used. I'm glad you mentioned it, though. I'll try to hear it somehow.

I've been Listening to Soviet kitsch and I really enjoy Regina's sonic complements to the lyrics.

Mos def and plies were my introductions to the polar opposite sides of hip hop and what made me fall in love with the genre. I was pretty young when I was going wild on this stuff.
