I remember the twitter thread between Denzel and Anthony back when Denzel was thinking about quitting rap. Fantano said a lot of a kind words and probably really cut through to him more than the demons surrounding him at the time. I’m glad he’s in a good headspace and is reminded that he is ultimate.

This was one of his best records yet imo. I'm partial to Imperial b/c that was an album I went back to a lot throughout high school but I definitely felt like MME is better than Taboo, just a lot more consistent in quality, better hooks, and practically no filler. Fam if ur ready to give an album a 10/10 but ur not declaring it more than a top 10 album of a year less than halfway through the year ur way too easy on 10s. 10s shouldn’t even be dished out yearly. They r very special, I’m not sure there r even 10 albums in all of music history I would give a 10 (in reality it is probably about 10-15 but idk Man U have to be pretty extreme). Only the best of the best get that rating. Something has to be on a different level. Amazing doesn’t mean 10/10, super creative and mind blowing doesn’t mean 10/10. 10/10 is an accolade saved for the most special of albums. The albums that blow your mind but stick with you. The albums that you can’t stop thinking about for years. The albums that change your perspective on music and life. That’s a 10. That’s a to pimp a butterfly, that’s a dark side of the moon, that’s an ok computer, that’s a in the aeroplane over the sea, that’s a the black parade, that’s a disintegration. I respect ur love for this album but u gotta alter ur ratings systems. Also this comment was not meant to be mean or confrontational I was just tryna speak my mind on the topic. As someone who has been listening to this dude for the last 7 or 8 years it trips me out seeing all this love for Denzel and all the content out there, I just turned 14 when I found out about Raider Klan and SHWB and all that on KZbin and SoundCloud. Back then he was a really mysterious character there wasn’t much out there about him. The music influenced me so much and made me feel such an unexplainable type of way, now listening back to that old era of songs that feeling is still there but with a great nostalgic feel where I can’t help but reminisce on those rare times. Not to take away from curry but hearing his project and him opening about his abuse. Really makes me wish I could hug him because I have a upcoming project called PAIN CREATES PASSION and song one speaks on sexual abuse I went through and it makes me happy to hear how somebody like curry use his pain to create the passion that drives him today. It is a disgusted act that happened to him and for him to have the guts he had to open up about it, it's a great feat that most people dont understand that men do get abused. Men do get dressed and have mental illness. Denzel, you are becoming a amazing human being and artist and its incredible to watch you work.

Soo I might be a bit right "Melt my eyes see your future" is a great metaphor to a lyrical idea of "sacrificing himself to help others find there futures" this album was a masterpiece I could see it at 9/10 to 10/10 this album was on the Kendrick Lamar levels of outstanding. This generations tpab. Thank you Denzel for coming at this with love, thought and care. I'm gonna go back to listening to this album for the 12th time. Edit:been listening to this album over and over again i still see it as the kind of writing and introspective of tpab (sacrificing your mind to help others through tough times)but I saw that i put the best songs up first and swept away the more meh ones (jon Wayne) after careful thought I can't see it as great as tpab. But it is still a great album more of a DAMN but i am excited to see where Denzel goes in The future cause if he keeps going the way he is one day we will get an album on the same level as tpab (still hoping for a deluxe on this masterpiece).

I appreciate so much what Denzel is doing for music and can't wait to see what he comes up with. I think the real soul of hip hop, the thing that separates it from other genres, is that it comes from such a love and sense of honor for its musical roots and incorporates their sounds in a way that's familiar, but that gives you an appreciation for the music that inspires it. It's a versatile genre in ways we've only barely seen tapped into, and Denzel is on that frontier, always trying to push new boundaries, but not in a contrived kinda way. Wasn't aware the album was out, can't wait to listen

Really respect how much he’s evolved since ZUU, which was a fun album but a little light weight nd superficial for me. Thanks Denzel for the great music and for being so open about your problems. I had a similar experience in 2019 where I had everything, but nothing at the same time. I realized that I was an alcoholic and a pretty average human being. I was cruising through life, but I wasn't taking care of the ones that I loved and I definitely wasn't taking care of myself. Thanks for the talk again, it really made me feel better about my own journey. I'm almost two years sober and I've never been happier even if it's a work in progress. Sending good vibes your way to everyone in the comments section. ✌️

Denzel curry has always been one of my favorite rappers. I find his ability to speak his mind but also produce lyrical masterpiece is absolutely brilliant. The mindset he has that makes him want to be different from the crowd lets him experiment with some outlandish ideas such as the collaborative album with Kenny Beats and Ta13oo. As I continue to listen to his full discography I find such versatility in his work and I am able to see how big of an influence he has on the underground and mainstream rap/hip-hop industry.
