I just watched ‘The Color Purple’ for a third time last night, except this time, it was with my mother & 10 yr old sister. In every second of the entire movie, I don’t know how, but me and my mother’s hearts were intertwined. We felt the weight of the movie and together watched Celie’s beautiful story unfold. My mom cried, I cried, my sister laughed at us crying😂, and then we all laughed. A Mothers Love sometimes feels like it can stop time. I don’t know why, it’s a little scary sometimes, because I don’t want the feeling to leave, but I realize that, the way to keep it, is to lean into it.
