As someone from America who started supporting Spurs in the last few years, this is a fantastic way of learning the history of the club even moreso. thanks for this, and I hope that more seasons are to follow! #TTID #COYS

As a 56 year old Spurs supporter looking back at this time I'd forgotten the emotions I felt back then and how those big defeats hurt so bad at the time. Now I'm a Grandad to four life's very different. Although defeats still hurt I can look back and realise life realy does go on. I will buy the book, that's my history too.

Amazing show, reminiscing about this almost fantastic season. I was only a 11/12 years old. But I remember that season as a kid so much. I even had a waddle haircut, Waddle came to Southgate book shop signed my 87 cup final shirt a year after. Also I remember completing my 87/87 Panini sticker album which I still got somewhere in the garage. Can’t forget Clive 49 goals, Richard Gough, Clemence …. Hoddle with his amazing vision and spectacular goals, Amazing memories. I will definitely have to get hold of this book. COYS

I fortunately had my mum to take me to every home game that season, what football, what a team, what players, a memory I'll never forget, Hoddle's goal vs Oxford was the icing on the cake. The fa cup semi-final was a great day out but the final was one of the biggest upsets in football history.

'87 was the year I started supporting Spurs. Whilst still at primary school. I remember getting the panini '86 sticker album. Yet it wasn't until a year later I chose the club that I've stuck with through thick and thin. At least I'll never be accused of glory hunting.

What a lovely time capsule? That League Cup semi was still the worst... I had started going to the matches then, aged 11 (which is bizarre in itself), and yet that semi... I had to listen to it on the radio in my parents' bedroom, a midweek semi under the lights, and I've never felt so deflated after a game. But, more broadly, what a team. Loved that year. And curious how we can all recall transfer fees from back then? Great stuff.

I didn't miss one game that season...Arsenal broke my heart in the Milk cup semi-final...We should've won at least one cup.

I remember that season vividly! Everton had a monster team with the likes of Neville, Sheedy, Adrian Heath, Graham Sharp, Reid, Steven and Stevens! 3rd in the league then we get knocked out by the scum in the semi's and finally lose to Coventry! I remember crying my eyes out at Wembley and blaming Gary Mabbutt for the slip!!! Never saw why someone who wasn't over 6ft played as a centre back in the 80s when the majority of teams hoofed it!

86/87 was a really interesting season. Pleat came in altered the whole DNA of the club. He got rid of Perryman, Roberts, Hazard, Falco, Galvin, Miller (Hoddle's last year). All the backroom staff (Mike Varney, John Pratt, even old Johnny Wallace the kit man) which at the time felt a bit devastating to me; but with the benefit of hindsight it was needed. Shame Pleat's nocturnal activities on the Tottenham High r'd led to his tenure ending prematurely

Pleat did not get rid of Perryman. SP left for Oxford in March 1986, when Shreeves was still manager.

@@michaelkahn8433 yeah you're right. I've just started reading the book & realised that. Hazard also left the year before 👍

Had Spurs just fixed their defence throughout those years, we could have seen a bunch of trophies since then. On the other hand, as a US fan, supporting a team whose glory years were before my time wasn't really my cup of tea. I think Pochettino was really our first manager (since Nicholson or Burkinshaw?) who successfully sorted out our attack and defence. That 16/17 season was likely the least amount of goals conceded in Spurs history (and only 3 behind City's least goals conceded season). There's guys like George Graham who sorted out our defense for cups historically but never got the attack together.

That legendary Maradona midfield. We have Betancur, Maddison, Bissouma, Sarr on the grow. Just 8 games in and we have so much to look forward to

Remember that great team so well and disappointment that came with it. Funny enough I didn't begrudge Coventry their moment as I knew they wouldn't be back and we did as in 91! Must have been the first sign that I was getting old? 😂

First season i properly paid attention and watched football altho we’d moved up north that year so supported from afar - remember previous Season fa cup final and World Cup but nothing else from the 86 season - supported Spurs since 81 but that was more due to living locally and liking Chas and Dave FA cup songs than from actually liking or really knowing what football was as to young to really get it then

Before I watch this in full, Spurs losing the FA Cup final in 87 really hurt. I was convinced we'd mirror the 60's wins. I sill haven't got over that!
