Man, every single snake in this episode was an absolute hottie. They were all 10/10 gorgeous, even the deceased one.

I've been catching garter snakes my whole life in Northern Mn as those and the red bellies are the only ones up in this region. When you say their musk is nasty, you are not kidding! Lol. I'm 54 and still to this day I will stop the car to grab one and get it off the road. Turtles too of course. Love the content! I wish we had more species up here to find. But flipping tin in a state that does is on my bucket list for sure! Take it easy!

I saw my first Coral snake in NE Florida last week. At dawn in the grass about 40 feet from a lowland wood edge. It was very jumpy like the one in your video. At first the snake put its head under a leaf and stayed still.

I loved the way that the Coral Snake's yellow head popped in the camera footage compared to the rest of its body, which was drab in comparison.

Sick finds as always! 4:04 I believe the garter is using it's tail to mimic a prey item so a potential predator will go for the tail instead of its head, giving the snake a better chance of survival. Or it could just be fanning musk fumes at you

I live in Louisiana, the first time i saw one, was on a hiking trail, near the state prison, we went because, down here, waterfalls are improbable, and this wildlife area supposedly had 7 we only saw 1, but on the way back to the car, a guy said there was a cool rat snake, near the trail, as soon as i saw the chevrons, i knew that guy was wrong thinking back, the time of year, and how fat it was, i think it was a pregnant female, she was going after a chipmunk, which i never knew we had down here lol, we have lots of squirrels.... but that day,i got to see 3 new animals, the timber, a chipmunk, and at the restroom, a Louisiana bark scorpion

It is better that rattlesnakes don’t come on the roads often, because they are getting smashed all the time. Nice coral snake and I think with the cleanest colors, although the lighting might have been better. They aren’t as calm and retiring as advertized. Also nice bright copperhead.

Werehopefullytravelling to Colorado next year and I’m planning on going out herping. I don’t care if I only see a ring neck. I’ll be stoked with anything. Not much to be found in the north of England

When the garter snakes musk you, do they somehow evert their cloacas? When you discuss being musked, it often looks like tissue is bulging from the snake’s vent. Does this harm the snake - i.e. is it like some sort of intestinal prolapse?
@alpoh
@alpoh Жыл бұрын
A lot of snakes tend to stick their cloaca out while musking. It doesn't harm them, it's like humans bearing down to poop. They're pushing and bearing down to keep musking.
