For anyone who doesn’t know, house Blackwood was originally from the north. They lived in the wolfswood, and the Starks drove them out. They fled south and sought shelter in the Riverlands. Kind of a reverse house Manderly situation. And that’s why their name is Blackwood, because of the black trees in the wolfswood.

I think the pink background with the blood droplets is suposed to represent the skin of the flayed man, especialy since the Boltons of old wore cloaks of human skin and you mentioned the pink cloaks of modern Boltřons

I completely agree that Bolton should be S tier. George was a genius with that. Red and black wouldve been the predictable choice. Maybe red and grey if they was an association with burning people after flaying them, as in the grey from the smoke, the red blood drops and the flayed man. That would be great! A tier. Choosing pink?! S tier! It works so well. There is something?... Creepier? About pink. Which is more sinister and Bolton than any other color for the background of the sigil. I do truly love the Bolton banner. As far as being perfect for the house it belongs to.

The Manderly sigil being originated in the Reach also makes sense from the usage of green and white, the House Gardener colors from when they would have ruled the Reach when the Manderly's were still there.

I have made most of these sigils with my 3d printer, then bought shields from Hobby Lobby, painted them up, and have them in my "Hall of Shields," aka dinning room. I think my personal favorite is Blackwood. The red, black, and white really pop.
