@Blunt Authenticity They do have a loose texture when natural, but black hair comes in many different curl patterns it's not all super coily. Some black people(though not very common) actually have naturally straight hair. I know full black people that have loose curly hair. Even some mixed people have coarse hair.

Hey Kelsey and Kendra! My name is Ajah (Asia), and I live in New Mexico. I have recently decided to go natural with my, but since I do live in a desert the heat and dryness is really hard to deal with. Can you please give me some tips (if you have any) on dealing with hair in a dry climate?

Hi how are you guys! I would like to wear micro braids during summer in increments of six to eight weeks at a time throughout each year while trying to grow out my hair? I plan to keep getting relaxers regularly until my hair grows long enough to transition naturally. Possibly using keratin treatment all because my hair is super thick and ourse naturally. I'm excited to follow your tips and I would like to know if your opinions the same for braids of those kind? Thank you

It took you six months a year to grow your hair that length? Okay but from what length starting point? No way you grew 22 inch length hair in 6 months to a year. Hair grows on an average from a half inch a month, no matter what you put in it or what race you are. So even if they started with shoulder length hair there is no way it would be 22 inches in 6 months to a year. In twelve months hair would only grow about 6 inches. But... both you two are beautiful.

from shoulder length
@ConspirHerSee10 жыл бұрын
Lolade Oduntan even in one year that's only six inches, the hair is obviously longer than six inches past the shoulder, not possible in a year..And that is a scientific fact

@TheCatsLastWord I agree, that answer kinda confused me. They said that their hair was shoulder length when they first started transitioning, so if it only took 6 months to a year for them to get their hair to their current lengths then a lot of it would still be relaxed. Hair only grows half an inch per month so that would be about 3-6 in. of natural hair. I wonder when their last relaxer was?

About the hair moving, lol it is all about healthy hair, yes, and that means finding the right products for your type of hair, the types that work best with your hair texture and state of health, just do your research. Search up what the different oil types can do and then pick the conditioners and shampoos that will work well with it. Do not use so many things at the same type, test things out and pay attention to how your hair feels with what you buy. Listen to your hair and treat it as it wants. Feel it and feed it right haha!!
@mem43409 жыл бұрын
Water with hair oils cream make my type of hair extremely healthy. Water to me is ESSENTIAL and probably the best product out of all the products out there, plus the oil creams of course.. keep an active lifestyle filled with love and happiness, work towards goals and dreams and your hair will thank you as well. Eat a healthy well balanced diet and just be happy and healthy, free from stress! I'm saying because acne sucks too lol!!

+twilightsagasuperfan The vast majority of our population is. I have met very few people that are 100% anything. This is something that i have studied at school...I am not making comments that I do not know anything about. 2 years and your hair is that length and healthy? I'm so jealous! I've been natural 5 years and my hair isn't as long as yours. But I have 4c hair & my hair grows slow & I didn't learn how to take care of my hair until recently. (been relaxed since I was 2)

Are you serious?! Who put chemicals in your head at that age?!

Brooke Pryce My mom. lol She didn't know how to take care of my hair. Still doesn't. I just started to learn how to correctly take care of my hair mid/late last year. Been natural since 2008 and my hair is shorter them then :(
@Thoughtso57311 жыл бұрын
At least you're starting to take care of it and the damage isn't permanent you just have to start over.. Try co-washing, olive oil, almond oil, trimming, protein-filled conditioners, and wrapping your hair at night.. Also message your scalp and use some of those tingly keratin stimulants.. They work wonders!! I wish you luck in your journey to get your hair healthy again.. I hope that because you got your first perm so early your hair will actually grow back.. And one more tip!! When you add conditioner don't add it to your roots instead add it towards your ends since it is the oldest part of your hair and therefore easier to break off.. Buy leave-in conditioners and heat protectant spray (for when you flat-iron or blow dry).. I think those are all the basics.. Your hair will be longer in fuller in about 6 months..
@cinnawhat879711 жыл бұрын
Brooke Pryce thank you for the tips! But yeah I got perms from 2-15 every 6 weeks so my hair had major damage when I went natural. My hair is the longest it's been in my life so I'm just hair I have hair past my shoulders for the first time ever! Lol but I am trying to maintain length. I just took out some box braids and I had like an inch of newgrowth and my hair was only in for about 3 weeks! I'm also taking biotin.

I prefer to use my grease for cooking. Not on my hair! :-D
