Joshua Laporte You know the misc quest where you get a sailor's remains and put him to rest by cremating him in the lighthouse? This song just started playing as I went to the top of the lighthouse to finish the quest. So I was on top of the tower, the ocean to one side and snowy mountains along the coast and to my back with this masterpiece playing. That was probably the most immersed I've ever been in a video game.

It's pretty rare for a videogame to reach this level of artistry. The music elevated the game to an even higher level. I was pretty late to playing this game, didn't want to jump on the bandwagon. But I eventually bought it and devoted a whole summer to the game, good memories

As a French horn player, I will say that the opening melody is NOT easy to play. The top note is very close to the instrument's upper limit. It's hard not to sound awful when playing that high or even play that high at all.

Let's give some credit to the London Philharmonic too. Their arrangement of this song was spot on. The brief quiet moment with the piano was a nice pause and change of pace, but still felt like it belonged in the original track. Excellent, excellent piece. No joke, but I was on the verge of sleeping when I was napping this one time, but in the background on KZbin, this music was playing. My house was white as snow because of the lighting of my house, and there was a cold breeze coming from my AC above me, like a winter breeze. That, along with this music, literally made me think for a good few minutes, that I was actually in Skyrim, or some faraway place, awakening to the cold winter snow. I was sort of disappointed to find out that I was still on Earth, but it goes to show you how powerful music can be. :P 4:00 is so powerful.

It will always be Skyrim that opened my eyes to the world of the fantastical: gallant Elves weaving their magic, Burly Nord blacksmiths hammering away at crude plates of wrought-iron as Secunda clears the horizon. Every snow-carpeted dale, surmounted by jagged mountain peaks similarly worn in snow, uplifted the Wanderer in me. From the sprawling crypts of Ancient Nordic warriors to the plethora of cottages hidden in the deepest reaches of the forest. Lore stowed away in old wood-worked shelves awoke a hunger in me. If not for Skyrim, I wouldn't be where I am today and for that I am eternally grateful.

+Indy The Great That doesn't change anything. Nostalgia doesn't have to be from a time long long ago like in , it's when you feel something good about a different time. He means the thrill of exploring the world for the first time because that is a feeling that can never be replicated. Whether it's four years ago or forty, nostalgia isn't a feeling that needs to be held by a decade and up.

These fantasy games and songs really bring out the desire for me to return to a simpler life. I love gaming, KZbin and streaming movies - but it's so suffocating. Unless you have sacks of cash or savings, to live so far out in the countryside amongst the dramatic scenery can be a hard life of poverty and daily toil. I'd take the fresh country scenery over suburbia anyday if I were some oil baron who could afford to explore endlessly and soak in the magic.
@triforcepower739 жыл бұрын
The Rob I get the general gist of what you're saying, but the time period that these games are representing were by no means "simpler." And even if you were living in the world of Skyrim, it still wouldn't be simple at all. If you aren't a poor, hut-dwelling citizen who has to deal with a dull, monotonous life of harvesting the crops, fending off wolves and wild animals, then you might be a higher-up, wealthy citizen who still has to deal with the Stormcloak vs Imperial civil conflict as well as the rising number of dragons.

I find I'm so excited, I can barely sit still or hold a thought in my head. I think it's the excitement only a free man can feel, a free man at the start of a long journey whose conclusion is uncertain. I hope I can make it across the Dragontail Mountains. I hope to see Ulfric and shake his hand. I hope the Sea of Ghosts is as blue as it has been in my dreams. I hope. (Red-guard)
