Your weaving of cinematography and music is gorgeous! These are the most delightful videos my friend! You capture the magesty of the park in a unique and engaging way! Cheers!

from 13:25 onwards there was so much going on that you have to rewind a few time oh and to cap it off, a beaver calmly swimming by. Probably one of the most peaceful - enjoyable thank you. I have no idea how I came across your channel but man am I ever happy I did.

I just wanted to thank you guys for sharing these amazing videos. I haven’t been able to get out into the nature for far too long due to my stressful job, so these videos provide me with so much tranquility. I appreciate you both and adore all of your beautiful adventures together.

Btw- I especially love Julia’s kitchen! 😊 I grew up camping with my family and food was a pretty huge part of the trip. We’d have theme nights- like everything served on a stick, or all foods that start with a particular letter. So it brings back such fond memories to cook meals over the fire and chopping things with whatever knifes we have handy. This year I’m going to suggest a pizza night- like you guys had in a previous video. Thanks for the inspo!

Photo, composition, sound and editing...always blow me away in your videos. Great work! Your nature looks like Sweden´s, the similarity is really profound. Like that you make more out of the camping stuff, not just the transportation to get there. Camping is the enjoyment after a hard day of paddling. Thank you for sharing and thumbs up from Sweden!
@HandsomeCabinBoy6 жыл бұрын
Magnus, can I ask you if there are similar types of backcountry campsites in Sweden, ones that you canoe into and that have a firepit and space to pitch the tent, etc? I am a Canadian in Belgium and so far have found the "camping" situation in Europe very different to that in Canada. I wonder if Sweden's camping culture and infrastructure is similar to Canada's.
@ChrisProuse6 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much Magnus! :)
@truenorth3656 жыл бұрын
Hi, of what I understand is that Sweden has a very relaxed view of "camping" as long as you show respect and responsibilty. And from what Ive seen when outdoors. This rule works! If you take Germany for example, this is not even on the charts to do this kinda thing (by law). Sweden has a written law, the "Allemansrätten" (translation - All mans right). It means generally that you can do pretty much everything as as it is NOT: Private property, no chopping down trees, take your trash with you and respect the firehazard warning when applied during summer seasons. From what Ive seen I believe Canada has similar laws (correct me on that please).
@HandsomeCabinBoy6 жыл бұрын
Yes, in Canada there are vast areas where you can camp at will, provided you follow certain rules and regulations.

Hi i'm from Australia and I wondered into your videos by accident looking at other videos on camping, making log cabins and 12 ways to skin & eat a raccoon haha. Seen all your vids inc on skiing and camping and the incredible expense of Canada open & free, the peaceful clean lakes and how most of the year everything is under snow and you can just ski from your door to the shops! so cool. Best unspoilt country alongside NZ and love your jokes from other videos on the time of day like its 12 noon and pitch back or 2am and broad daylight such as it can be in the High latitudes and maybe a little further north of you but appeals to my sense of humour and cracked me up. I wish you well and that you have found such happiness together and love will always be love and look forward to more of your adventures to come. Best Wishes!

It is not very often, I will share on-line (other than my social media which has a very selective few, real friends) but you two, sharing your Algonquin experiences, (is considered intimate with nature), your creative talent capturing, documenting with such a beautiful and sincerely felt energy, I haven't the words to describe (any better than that I suppose) for two girls, sharing your experience with us. Beautiful. ...Thank you. I somehow, stumbled across your videos Chris just last week (while I was doing some random searches here on KZbin) looking for a few ideas and places to visit for me and my girl, for our up and coming weekend, road trip along Hwy 60. It is our traditional "Fall" weekend road trip, this time of year, and, well, nothing compares. Personally speaking, this is the ONLY holiday I have each year (I am self employed and work an average of 60 hours per week, my lady, she is a Lawyer and tops me with around 70 hours, regretfully, that said, we both love our jobs, but sharing that to give you an idea of how precious this time up north is for us, cherished, very much! The "disconnect", Algonquin is our closest paradise and the only place that delivers that serenity. : ) To say the least, I am looking forward to it, and truthfully speaking, I have been completely "taken" with your shared experience, you and Julia, you have both inspired me and continue the more I watch your collection you have here. Something beautiful, intimate, fun, sincere....Canadian : ) ...shared by two beautiful girls here on KZbin : ) Your spirit shines bright, both of you! Thanks for added inspiration for my (our) weekend ahead, Chris and Julia Cheers! Rob

My last memorable portage in Algonquin was between Little Dickson and White Partridge Lake. Long. Hot. Bugs near killed me. LOL. Great video. One of your best. Nicely shot and good soundtrack. Thanks!
@ChrisProuse6 жыл бұрын
Cool! We've been on that portage before - it's a good one for sure! We followed the unmaintained portages from there to Green Leaf Lake when we crossed the park a few years ago... I think we went 3 days without seeing anyone else out there, but we had a blast exploring them and heard lots of wolves. Lol, Julia laughed at me for reinforcing the tent with extra tent pegs in the corners just in case the wolves came by :)

Chris Prouse Ya - this was 1988. I’m 50 now. Algonquin outfitters had a few Kevlar, but almost entirely 75lb aluminum back then. Now that I’m officially in my fifties, I still canoe and backpack. Can’t imagine stopping. My biggest change is moving from Toronto to a 14 acre homestead where I grow over a ton of eco-friendly vegetables and try to live sustainably and restorable.

Algonquin is a transcendentally beautiful place at all times of day. I haven't been there for a long time, but think about it. It is in my heart. I miss it. I miss the calm morning mist on the lake, with frost on my wet jeans, even in late summer. I miss the camp fires with friends, and so many stars in the sky as to blow the mind.

I really enjoy your videos, they are top notch, especially your 360 views. I have also picked up many great ideas and tips from them. Your skills and fitness put most of us to shame. I hope this doesn’t come off wrong, but i am bit concerned about your food hanging and want to make sure you are safe as I’ve had my own encounter with a bear losing my food pack. This is from Algonquin’s website “When in Algonquin Park's backcountry place all food and other bear attractants (soap, toothpaste, etc.) in a pack or stuff sack and hang it well off the ground [at least 4 metres (~13 feet) off the ground and 2 metres (~7 feet) away from the tree trunk]”. I hope you are not upset that I posted this, but don’t want my mistake to be had by others. Looking forward to future videos, thank you:)

Julia's in heaven with her smores. lol. That sounds a lot like Chris's voice singing that song 'Empty'. Hmm.
@ChrisProuse6 жыл бұрын
Haha... the meaning I took from the song was that many of us have either become a little too preoccupied with filling our lives with greater amounts of material goods (that don't make us that much happier in the long run), or have become glued to our technology... and so we'd all be a little better off if we traded some of those things for more meaningful experiences with the people who matter most to us :)
