i got in this night with fridays ticket stub and gumption. at one point id been caught twice and taken by security away from soldier field and told next time its the chicago jail..i thanked them profusely for givingme one more chance and they rode off shaking theirheads...walked all the way around soldier to try the the last entry point in the damn stadium it was a cattle shute collinder of madness and the young black man who took the ticket and my 50 bill and smiled had the face of an angel and il always remember him..told him his momma raised him right and gave him a hug as he laughed and i had to skip and dance away from the goons who had detained me the 2nd time i got caught radiong and were "Arrest that one" trying to get through the meat grinder at the gate id made it thru..just when it looked like i wasnt actually gonna get away with it phil hit the first bomb for shake and everything went NUTZ....game set match... i was skipping/levitating in and litteraly walked straight to the seat next to my fam sight unseen of the floor plan (wasnt there fri.. had sunday ticket)..and the guy who sat next to them the first night wasnt even at his seat...(we were behind the stage looking over teh band at the sea of love in front of the stage with perfect sound,,,,,,,the universe is perfect in its love sometimes.... i saw phils aura that night and quit heroin cold turkey as i watched trey crying in joy to be alive in that moment while jer was on screen playing the same riffs... walked to the drainage ditch behind the stage and threw 3 grams of dope away and never looked back..never went back. kept goin and found home in oregon/eugene...the universe literally sucked me into a barn a mile from country faire and i didnt even know it existed............. thank you to every soul who made that weekend the most fun and healing experience in my life up until that weekend.... never though anything could top fare thee well tilll dead and co in eugene. the same vibe in chicago was there in spades..only to finally truly metamorp my face and soul when i saw phil at country faire night show and sat welcome as an honored guest to study his bass playing up close 5 feet from the master looking each other in the eye.4 years after i was sitting in withdrwal watching phils aura and staring at the back of his head..he gave me the masters and final lesson in being a musician that night..its not the notes or how phil plays.. its the joy he is feeling and the complete submerission of his soul into the sounds he is discovering..happier than any dancer to hear the joyful racket.............the sea of fam parted like the red sea to let me walk directly to the lil picket fence and sit in lotus recieving musical dharma transmission............2fare thee well indeed.. thought it was a wake,,but it was actually a resurrection.. the band and all of us brought the grateful dead back to life in chicago that weekend and weve been popping up a few nights a year since....... never trust a prankster

within the first 11 minutes; boby is completely lost, trey is like a newly trained dog, and phil is absolutely slamming the grooves. I know theres more and i've seen and listened to the whole weekend; but phil is my homecoming queen hands down. Listen to it again and watch how fucking hard he rips it. I take thanks in heady toppers on tour; but if that's not an option just a notice that you're alive and well is so sick.
