Farewell Lucy, Santa photos with Friday’s pack and welcome Bonnie and Archie

Starting off with some of yesterday afternoon at the farm after the bus left. Hanging out with the sleepover pack. Checking out the glamp sites were setting up for Luke’s family coming to stay at Christmas time.
Today we welcomed Bonnie the Cocker Spaniel and Archie the Mini Groodle.
Today we farewelled our dear friend Lucy...
We’ve known Lucy the Golden Retriever for longer than the farm has been open. Luke used to take her for walks and then when the farm started she would come up on a farm trip each week. Have hydro sessions, have sleepovers, she loved it.
But out of everything at the farm, Lucy loves her Uncle Luke the most. We haven’t seen Lucy for a number of months now up at the farm, because she has gone down hill in health. Sadly, now she is in her last days.
Before it’s her time, she wanted to come up one last time to see her Uncle Luke.
When she arrived today, Luke called her name and she immediately turned around and headed for him. She wagged her tail the whole time, which her owners said she hadn’t done for some time now, her tail is usually down between her legs.
Lucy came on the right day, because she got to sit with Santa for a photo. She got the limo service up the hill in the bush with Luke cuddling her.
We care for these dogs like they’re our own, I’ve said it before, we miss them when they go home. But the few times we’ve had to say good bye forever, it truly breaks our hearts.
Aunty Sam was strong for the whole time Lucy was here, even though I was struggling, only having said good bye to our Charlie boy 2 weeks ago. And when it was time to go, Lucy didn’t want to leave, she tried to get out of the car several times. But as she looked at us out the window as they drove down the driveway, I couldn’t keep it in anymore. Good bye sweet Lucy, we will miss you so much.

For sweet lady Lucy - It just crushes my heart to hear when 'we' have to let our fur babies(y) go to fly over the rainbow bridge. You could tell, it was unmistakable, that Lucy was so happy to be at the farm and with Luke. Seeing him carrying her brought tears to my eyes. She is a precious soul. Thank you to Lucy's family for sharing some of her last moments with us. I know Wal and Charlie Boy will be waiting with open paws for Lucy and will take great care of her. How beautiful that you got to say goodbye to Lucy and that she was able to visit her DDFT family before she heads off over the rainbow bridge. There she can run and jump and play without pain or illness, and she has friends waiting there too. She joins the furry angel farm pack watching over you all ❤❤❤ Friday's pack were clearly up for a big day, along with their new members who got stuck right in! You wouldn't know Freddy was a recent joiner who didn't really swim - I have a real soft spot for him ❤ Strange not seeing Bandit in the pack (but see how much longer the big ball survived!) 🤣 I guess with the borders opening there is a lot of family visiting which must be awesome. How wonderful that Luke's family will be spending the Holidays with you! Seeing Lucy is bittersweet but she still loved every minute with Uncle Luke and Aunty Sam. It's wonderful that Lucys family brought her for a last visit to Uncle Luke and the farm. She clearly loved it since she did not want to leave. Sam, my heart goes out to you for holding it in until she left. The anticipation of knowing is devastating, especially when the loss of Charlie is still so fresh. Looking at her sweet face got to me. In the last 3 weeks I have lost 4 of my Facebook doggie friends. I am assuming Heaven needed more Angels in a hurry. Hopefully that's over with for now and we can look forward to some festivities at Christmas!! Your little ones are the perfect age!! Heartfelt sadness that Lucy has left her family to cross the rainbow bridge to be with Wal and Charlie. So nice her family were able to get the Santa pictures. The other dogs were a cheery ending to the video with Bandit holding on for dear life to the lure attached to the fishing rod and Luke holding onto the other end very entertaining.

Welcome to The Farm fam Bonnie and Archie. The 'grass roll abouts' crap me up, it's like ultimate bliss (or something) .. just gotta drop n roll around, can't contain it (lol). WoW Santa, that was a serious face cleaning, and ah man that was a pretty serious game of tug-of-war in the pool too - I thought for a minute there Luke you were gonna get dragged out (haha). Honestly I just love watching the doggies play .. with the toys, each other, in the water .. watching that genuine happiness will cure what ails you. OK, I'm so curious about the cistern - is that all the water for the home, for the pools? Do you have a separate well for the house? Sorry, but I love mechanical stuff ALMOST as much as the dogs... Frankie got the biggest laugh out of me today - with his enthusiastic make-up session on Santa's face for the photos.

My old boy, Sonny, is a Beagler, and he’s about like Lucy. Nearly blind, almost deaf, and I’m loving him the best and making sure the last days are great for him. I need to do a photo like you’ve got here. (Not Santa, But a fun one.) I got one just after we got him @ about 6 months old. I had cut the sleeves short off a kids jacket, and zipped it up his back, and he loved me for it. (Well, after the first night, when he got over his humiliation and realized he slept warmer). The boys have their kennels outside, and the girls had bedroom privileges. Sonny reminds me of the Charlie you lost...

Interesting way you catch your drinking water. Those are nice large tents for your family guests. More Christmas Pictures with Santa Claus 🎅. The Boxers had beautiful stances as they waited for the Lure Run! I believe that the Boxers gave Luke a work out with the fishing line, Especially Bandit. Always a sad day to have to say goodbye to a long time friend. A bit hard after seeing Charlie over the Rainbow Bridge. A sad yet wonderful way to say goodbye. 🐾🌈 From NW Ohio USA
