Nice one, thanks Mike! From someone who was born & bred in Jhb & has considered coming back from CT, the difference is just startling. What the ANC has done to our beloved city of Jhb is a crime against humanity & the fact that private companies now have to spend money fixing up the areas in the city centre & around Ellis Park, apart from paying taxes is criminal! I love the way these crooked politicians have been saying for the past 30 years that they ‘know what needs to be done’ or they have ‘this plan’ or ‘that plan’ in place, but all they’ve done is stolen & pillaged from the budget, supported by their rotten cadres! Shameful. Thank heavens I’ve been in CT now for 8 years!

100 % correct that rot lies with the administration - have said that for years. Those are the people who set the budgets, control the spend and the set policies ( not the politicians). Tenders and contracts are often awarded to people that don't have "companies" or "businesses: at all. There are not assets to attach because if the contractor does any work, it is usually just to outsource the work anyway at a less than economic price.

Don't forget that the city was recently under ANC administration for nearly a year. At the time it was in a good financial place - something like a 4 billion surplus. After the ANC was done, that surplus had strangely disappeared and yet none of the service provider contracts had been renewed or been awarded under dodgy circumstances. It is unfair to blame the DA for all the decay in Tshwane since Brink is still busy putting right what the ANC got catastrophically wrong. Not to mention all the political shenanigans of votes of no confidence that have nothing to do with what's best for the residents of the city.
