This was fabulous guys, great tour as always. You wondered about that Great HE Bible and what the translation might say , so in The Great HE Bible , we learned at Bible College when we studied there, that in 1611, two King James Bibles were published and in Ruth chapter 3v 15 in that one you saw there which is THE GREAT HE Bible it will say "HE ( Boaz ) went into the city " and in THE GREAT SHE Bible it will say " She ( Ruth ) went into the city 🙂👍 You did a great tour here as usual and gave us a lot of great info, so well researched and it all looks so well considering the age. Loved the priests houses and those castle models I agree are so good. Haha Ceri you can't have porridge in those pots 🤭Loved the gatehouse and the Lady Tower . Oo dear so Lady Agnes burnt her husband , not nice ! Hehe. That was an amazing place and you both did a great tour, loved it, thanks so much ~ Anna 💕👏

That's so true how special the Bible is and in the collectors world the He bible is considered a true first printing from 1611 and is more rare than the She one , and those having a She edition are considered to have the second printing which would have been between 1611 and 1613 if i remember( I still have my Bible College notes in the loft from years ago so its made me want to go back over them now ! ) Its intersting because In our house, with Alf having preached for years ,we have many translations of the bible and most for this passage say She, but in the NIV translation which is considered a more popular version modern translation, interestingly that says He . Its so fascinating 🙂

I'd never heard of FHC until now. It looks a very interesting place to visit 👍. I find it pretty cool with places like this, how building conservation experts are able to arrest the decline making them safe and explorable to the public. I did like the crypt and the mummified remains, having never seen anything quite like that before. Thanks for the tour folks. Best wishes, Chris

Awesome looking Castle pretty too see . The towers looked tall good they restored it all . Must of been nice years ago so much too see and explore. The Minature model of the Castle was smart get a good vision of how it once was . The George and the dragon original wow beautiful stained glass windows . Hi guys. Sorry for the late comment but we've had 3 holidays in the last 6 weeks plus with all the hot we've had I've hardly been on my computer or watched much TV. Slowly catching up with KZbin vids now. I've heard of this castle but didn't realise it's only 34 mins away from us. Looks interesting with lots to see & much bigger that I thought. I'm surprised the lead tombs hadn't been stolen as any lead in the past was valued by thieves. 🙂🙂

Cup of tea and a sandwich to get rid of those evil spirits, great stuff! 😃 It really is worth being an English Heritage member isn't it. I am too. Free entrance and even better, free parking, always a bonus! 👍 As you say, such thick walls in the castle's construction, so it's amazing to think how much work would have gone into those. Such a lot to see in that wonderful castle with all those relics. Loved those priest houses and the chapel with the crypt. That looks like one of the most interesting and detailed castles managed by English Heritage I've ever seen. Thanks for showing us around! Hope you have a wonderful weekend Ceri and Kat. Well what a lovely tour of this fantastic place. Just my cup of tea. I agree the fabric of the walls etc really give a sense of the effort by the ( peasants) and masons building these places. We would spend all day reading every card and plaques. Like the Chapel. And very interesting to hear of the HE Bible. Not sure Agnes would have been a nice lady to know. 🤷🏻‍♂️.
