FARM DAY // CUTTING FIREWOOD with the STIHL MS381 VLOG

Cutting firewood wood with the Stihl 381 and Stihl 018 Chain saws. Is it hard to cut fire wood, and is firewood worth the time and energy. These are questions i get asked all the time on the farm and its a very simple answer. If you want to keep fit and save money take the time to cut down small dead trees and see if your comfortable. Old dry wood is a great source of energy and can heat a room or cook a meal very quickly. We use our firewood to serve both of these functions and in upcoming videos we will be cooking some great cuts of meat over and open fire with the Meater Plus thermometer and in camp ovens slow and steady.

Amanda did a great job helping me on this occasion and rounding up the cows as they are pregnant. A Bolognese Pie would be something different to try that's for sure. I don't remember the menu so if there is one there ill give it a go next time. You will absolutely love having a wood fire place in your new house and enjoy the ambience it creates. I think if you filmed a few pieces of Timber Nicole on the lathe being formed a KZbin channel would be on the cards as they get massive views. I watch a channel @AndyPhillip sometimes where he fills old oak timber I think with blue coloured resins and turns them into magic 👌. I can easily see how one channel with life is already a struggle. This is a full time gig if you want to build something form it into the future. Im with you on that one. Im staying home and keeping safe and so is the entire family. We only need to check o the livestock now and then to make sure they are keeping well but apart from a pie there isn't any need to stop and see anyone. I think with the warmer weather up there the numbers should remain lower than here, and lets face it if everyone just thought a little more things may be better. Ill keep having a drink to make sure the only thing in my stomach is good bacteria 😂😂😂

Yeh you get showered in the dust when your cutting the trees down. Not great for the asthma or sinuses but the safety gear at least stops me from getting hit in the face with the bigger pieces of bark or sticks. I remember when butchers used to have that but now I only see the tiled floors or polished concrete, must save on they're waste. 😁

😆😆 Thanks Dave, it’s funny mate as Amanda was a great help picking up the timber just not so good on the gates. We worked well together checking the cows and doing some small jobs. Stihl is right near my home and so is Husqvarna but I’ve had the old saw for so long with no problems I just naturally went for the MS381 approx 5 years ago when I upgraded. I can’t fault there products or there safety equipment. Red Bull was Amanda’s idea to give us a kick start for the day 😆😆 Funnily enough I was still awake at 1am after having it so they must work. Thanks Dave your a Legend and I haven’t forgotten about the card ( it’s in the next video 😉)

Hey Ryan and Amanda! It’s been a while since I stopped by! I use a little Homelite saw for cutting small trees around my place. I don’t cut for firewood, I only use my saw for cleaning up trees, mainly small ones, and branches that blow down in my yard. By the way, in south-central Kentucky drivers will give a little finger wave, and also a head nod! They won’t do it in Yankee towns in Pennsylvania!

Amanda made sure she had all the essentials packed as you mentioned and was a great help in loading the wood for me. It’s quite easy to cut when you have a little practice and it’s so nice to hear the wood crack I’ll long in front of the fire at night. Yes Jess, its 1200 acres. Lots of grass and timber that's for sure. Its been nice for the kids to enjoy riding, hunting and learning to cook over the fire. It doesn't get reception there in most places probably why Amanda isn't a fan of going there 😂😂 but its slowly improving. The cows are great and they are like pets, they come up to you when you get out of the car and almost let you pat them. I never realised how smart cows were until we got them. 😁😁
