Yes, i second that, just came across Joseph and Mariana for the first time a few hours ago and I am already a mesmerised, hypnotised addict to the videos and I like the way that Joseph educates his viewers about the names of the fruits, berries and just about everything. He doesn't assume that everyone knows everything, which is good because not everyone knows about farming even though they aspire to have a farm. I would grow my own food and share with the neighbors. I would rebuild and add lots of windows and doors to add more natural light. I would want wild flowers and add some meadows to bring birds, butterflies and bees. May add another guest house on the property and extend the living quarters to include the outdoor space.

Knowing the good, reliable builders in the area would be a big plus! We bought a house in the Minho in similar condition. Major project! Builder was good mostly but there were a few problems. This would be nice with some exposed stone but maybe best plastered/stuccoed. Insulate on the inside (condensation on cold stone in winter can be a problem but drier there than the Minho so….). New roof. Those roof tiles would probably still be pretty good but our builder just tore them off and trashed them. Seemed like a waste.

Hi Joe, hope your neighbour is recovering and is well. I don't want to sound negative, it is a bit pricy for me. It is an excellent price with all the elements, the borehole, the dam and fishing, the fencing, the agri support , the house and the assistance with local trades. No to mention to have a neighbour of your calibre. The property has wonderful character and your description is evcellent. I could get close to this in Ireland, but it would be a premium for the renovationing of the house, the neighbours, the weather. but the benefit in Portugal would be the climate. This year in Ireland it was late May before the leaves on the ash came fully out. My bill for heating from nov to April was 800 + That was being careful . Gas, not counting the wood, turf and coal. While I am a little older than you without the benefit of a beautiful women to share this with( I know you told me that the due date was your birthday a boy you can share but a lady ... Hope all goes well) I wish to retire, but still having 3 hours a day work and in harvest full time. Joe please edit or delete if his offends you. Someone mentioned ok Portugal costs I think it was 70 k without taxes or fees, a great buy but their initial plan had to be adapted. Thank you for the vlog, and again well wishes to your neighbour. To put an extra building you would need planning, but to build up the original building planning is not required
