If even 40% of raw milk producers were to sue them in individual cases (never letting it become a class action suit), it would be financially detrimental to their departments. @@thegratefulsteve Who are you to suggest what is morally acceptable? Have you even milked a dairy animal? Most appreciate the relief and willingly stand for you to help them out.
@thegratefulsteve2 жыл бұрын
@@lastharvest4044 yes, i have milked a cow. Do you ever ask yourself why the cow needs to be milked? I can tell you why. Because dairy cows have been bred to produce more milk than is natural through human intervention and forced breeding. Dairy, and all animal products, come from the human exploitation of a non human animal's reproductive system. Forced pregnancy is morally abhorrent. Exploiting the reproductive system of others is morally abhorrent. Dairy is extremely cruel. Most the worlds population is lactose intolerant and all the worlds human population are humans and not cows. Suggesting that we need to consume dairy for any reason is simply wrong. You are not a baby cow. Time to wean off the teet.

@@thegratefulsteve I'm glad to hear you are speaking from experience at least. I don't agree, considering that many traditional cultures have consumed dairy, some even revering the cow because it sustained them and allowed them to have some level of health in the lower caste (India.) I'm completely against CAFOs, and milk produced from them is toxic. It's unhealthy for the animals, the people who consume their milk, and the environment. However, grass-fed dairy and pet-dairy are a completely different subject, and I assure you most small farmers treat their dairy animals as well as anyone treats a dog or cat. For example, my Nigerian Goats would in nature be bred by 2-4 months. They would likely be permanently stunted by being bred so early, and possibly die in child birth. Instead, I wait until they're 18 months old and fully mature physically/emotionally. There are a lot of compassionate farmers out there. Not everyone does it for money or "exploitation" of the animals. For me, they're forest and pasture managers that happen to produce an edible product once a year, and I sell well loved and trained animals to pet/dairy homes. We enjoy one another's company, and the relationship is mutually beneficial. They're always excited, happy, and healthy. Never even had to use a single antibiotic or chemical wormer.

@@lastharvest4044 let me ask about the life cycle of your dairy goats so I can better understand your process. Take me through the breeding process, how many offspring? What is done with each individual newborn, male and female? How many goats do you require? How long is their typical lifespan? How is their life ended? These are just a few questions to start. I am sceptical, but want to give you the chance to explain how the particular animal husbandry you partake in is ethical.

Very eye opening documentary about what small farmers deal with. It definitely seems that Big Ag is partially behind this mission to shut down small farms. They know people are learning about the cruel practices that go on in the factory farms and don’t want to lose revenue or customers, so if there’s no small farm to get healthier options, the people are only left with Big Ag. Big Ag money controls govt decisions? We live in a society that’s shifting over to where they don’t want anyone to think for themselves or make their own choices. Wanting to raise healthy children on raw milk and pasture raised meat like people have done for thousands of years has now become a rebellious act that turns people into criminals. It’s crazy times we live in. I’m very thankful to live in a state where I can buy raw milk. My local farmers market has fresh raw milk, butter, raw kefir and local farmed meat. The prices of eggs are getting so high, I’m thinking of adding some backyard chickens. I grew up on a farm so I know the connection you make with the farm animals and how much more it makes you appreciate where your food comes from. I felt the tears these small farmers were shedding and we need to continue to stand together and fight for the right to healthy food not tainted by antibiotics, hormones, pesticides, pasteurization and the like. Continue to fight for our freedom, rebellious ones. 😉

Here in Ireland, the majority of farms are small, family owned and run. The E.U. keep coming up with more and more edicts and rules that the small farms cannot afford to work. In Holland, the dutch government have put compulsory purchase orders on 600 farms to take them out of food production.

My heart goes out to these farmers and their families and also their animals. People are dying from obesity, cancer, diabetes every day because off low quality processed foods … what these small farmers are doing is probably way healthier than what these factory farms can produce and it most likely threatens them so they are trying to strong arm the competition by pulling the political strings that they can control because of their lobbying money and political power.

But we still have choices as to what we want to put in our bodies. For instance, when I get gas in my car, I don’t buy any of that crap “food” in the gas station. It’s all processed sugary junk. Sodas, chips, candy, ugh ! It’s ridiculous. But every year those gas stations get fuller and fuller with more junk. I don’t buy that stuff. If most everyone stopped buying it, then they wouldn’t sell it. 🤦🏼♀️ Same with regular grocery stores. More and more aisles are filled with junk food. If people stopped buying it, they wouldn’t produce it and sell it. It’s quite that simple. And I also grow a lot of my own fruits and veggies. Or buy from farmers markets.

An extremely well put together documentary. It really shows how flawed the USDA is in its approach to small farmers, and this has very negative consequences for the US food supply chain. I think what comes out of this on raw milk is that any farmer in any state should be able to produce and sell it in-state, and that this should be a Federal Law. But what is staggering is the heavy handed approach adopted by the USDA/FBI towards these small farmers/foodstore owners, treating them no differently to drug gangs. How on earth can this be justified?
