Thanks for the trip down memory lane. In the 70's as a kid on the farm there was nothing more I liked more than when we got working parties from the 3 family farms together and just got the work done. Sometimes the good ole days were just that, good!

Always enjoy seeing sod turned upside down so effortlessly and you guys made it look so easy. Nice straight furrows too. I know for sure sophisticated people do not have that much fun. And of all people, the host ran out of gas. :-) After a few more decades pass, you guys will be having coffee at the local hangout and reminiscing about this plow day when Squatch ran out of gas.

One thing about the plows is that turning the ground over, keeps the moisture longer in the soil coming into summer. This no plowing has got whiskers on it because if you don't, the mouses build their nests and breed in unbroken soil, so, with the rain that we've had, plows are now a premium item. Lovely to watch.

The 3-bottom hydraulic lift plow you had behind the Super-M did the prettiest job of turning that dirt over. So incredibly smooth and even, which is what I would expect when turning over sod. Really wonderful seeing all that equipment in the same field at the same time.

Well, that was quite the equipment show. You could have plowed all that ground by yourself but it would have made the video about 3 weeks long. I must say that you have beautiful topsoil on your land. You cuss the rocks but most farmers would call that dream soil. Kudos to all the good friends and all the determined old iron that came to help out. You are rich indeed. I enjoyed this video. 😎👀👍🚜🚜🚜🚜🚜🚜

What an excellent day ya'll had! This is how I remember it being growing up "on the farm". Wasn't our farm, LOL. But, they (my parents and the neighbor farmers. The Porter's) couldn't keep me away when I was a kid (and I mean "kid", I started butting in when I was about 6). They eventually realized they were wasting their time trying, LOL. And, just let me work. And work I did! From tending the hogs (you don't know how hard dealing with animals can be until you deal with hogs!) to spreading manure before I was 10! I can remember backing up trailers for adults when I was a kid from the skills I had gleaned from working on the farm. You want to see a proud kid? Watch a 12 year old back a 40 year olds boat trailer down the boat ramp because the 40 year old was struggling. I got to be that kid many times. New guys would show up at the boat ramp, and struggle to back their boat to the water. I would wander over and offer to do it. They would laugh at me every time. Then one of the regulars, or a game warden would fill them in. And they would let me behind the wheel. Those days on the farm taught me a lot of lessons I still use today 45 years later and 2600miles away. I sure miss those times. I don't get to see days like that any more. I never got to do much dirt work. They kind of did draw a line on what size equipment they would let me operate. The Farmall dragging the manure spreader was about my biggest responsibility. And I always got to move the hay wagons around. But when the heavy iron came out, it was all business, no time for the kiddo. But at the end of the day, it was just like you showed: A bunch of good people, gathered around after a good days work. Thanks for sharing Squatch! Took me down memory lane for a little bit.
