We had one of these on our farm in the South Island of nz in the late 80s. Same procedure to get it started, tow it round the yard for few minutes pre hay making season. Uncle would yell at us if we stalled it. Thanks for the memories 🍺

BD264 engine , pulling wise it would make a Fordson Major, Nuffield 4/60 or Massey 65 seem like a toy. Starting wise the worlds worst!

We had one, I barely remember it (We traded it in for a B.450 in 1961 and I was only 5 years old then ) But talk about a bad starter! My uncle used to reverse it up i on top of a mill bank which was in our yard every night, switch the engine in off then latch the brakes , ( Probably left it in reverse gear too) then throw a tarpaulin over it. The the next time he wanted to use it he would take the tarp off, sit on the seat, heat up the glowplugs then release the brakes, let it roll down the slope then let the clutch out! 😮

Which gear you were using during the pulling? 5. or 4.

Did you use glow plugs or just pulling so long it will "warm up" and start ?
