Sea Foam helps a lot. It's a great fuel stabilizer, and cleaning agent. It did fix that 1962 Ford Truck we had. Old truck would barely run and after running Sea Foam, it cleared right up. It was a permanent fix. But it depends how bad it is. If it won't run at all, then the carburetor needs to come apart. But given the way your Cub was running, I'm sure it would fix it.

I used to use seafoam in my trucks, always seemed to work well. I always used a can once a year. And when I used it I always made sure to use it when I was filling the tank full with gas.

I have seen videos of people putting it in old noisy vehicles oil and running it for about 20 minutes it seems to clean out the engines and make them quite again. Used it for years myself in my boats when I lived in southern Fla

This is my 3rd year using SeaFoam in my lawnmower, rototiller, and snowblower and no more spitting & sputtering in all 3 of them. I put a couple of capfuls of SeaFoam in the tank every time I fill,it up and it also acts as fuel stabilizer so if a machine sits for a while the fuel won’t go bad and they will start when you need to use them again.

I used to plow quite a bit with my 57 Cub back in the day. Never used chains, and the weights seem to work fine for traction. Did she slip on some ice...sure, but never stopped me from getting the job done! I would be dangerous at those auctions you go to. My Cub would have a bunch of red tractor buddies to play with 👍

I use both the additive and the spray. Additive on my lawnmowers in the spring. The spray on anything stuck/rusted. It’s amazing.

Excellent video Gino :) also never used Seafoam ever and tires fill on Liquid Chloride yes done with tractors on farm tractors my dad plus a barrel of cement in back arms on rod clip on with 3 third arm top barrel to but no chains ever yet!

Mixed results for me most times I have just gotten better with changing inline filters and fuel shut offs help more so along with some kind of storage additive. Biggest case is lubrication in the field these days

I had a garden tiller where the governor surged. Did that for a couple years and then I dumped 1/2 can of seafoam in it, which was probably way too much. (the can did say the more you add, the more it cleans). It smokes this bluish white smoke for a while and the surging went away. That was two years ago.

Hello Gino only one way clean a carb or a fuel tank.Take it off take apart and remove debris then reset to factory specs, a can of chemicals can not remove dirt. Have a great day

I'm a firm believer in SeaFoam. I use it all the time. Added to the oil works well too. Nothing better to stop noisy lifters than Seafoam.

I've used "Seafoam" once or twice. I could not tell any difference in performance. But I have discovered that if it is strong enough to dissolve paint, it'll clean a carb.

I see that plume of smoke right when you started down the driveway. That's some garbage blowing through. I have used Seafoam products some plus Lucas in a truck. Mostly use Lucas. But my guess is that it's largely isopropyl alcohol. And yes, you're right, pull and rebuild the carb, clean the tank, put an inline, and the fuel side will be good.

I personally don’t think any of the can products for fuel or oil work but to each his own right I found the best thing to do for gas is if you are going to let it sit for long periods put non ethanol fuel in it seems like the ethanol is what causes the problems that is my opinion and experience I’d love to have that cub or the m with the wide front you sir have a beautiful bunch of tractors thanks for sharing

Geno, you don't need a new switch on your cub. My super M had the same problem. A couple drops of oil and it's like a new one. ( not the starter switch, but the kill switch).

Star tron for gas is a great product for water and ethanol and as a stabilizer. I use it in all my gas engines. And storage cans and tanks.

Sea Foam? Suppose it's like lead additive. Some will swear by it, some will swear about it. Far as I'm concerned, it's only good for stirring up muck in a forum or chat. Oil is another good one for that. Anywho, I would have shot the carb with some cleaner first. And that kill switch just needs a shot of WD40 or the like. Should be good to go then. Regards!

We don’t recommend using Seafoam more than once in an engine! We buy a lot of engines used and rebuild them into racing engines we also build current manufacture engines! Ford and GM do not recommend it! We discovered that it’s not good for the rings! A one time deal can bail you out of a mess, anymore than that is a risk! We recommend a Lucas product for carbureted engines! Also as far as chains go I’ve never used em and I’ve plowed lots of snow in years past! Loaded tires seems to work quite well! On ice it’s a different deal!

Sea Foam. True it's a fuel stabilizer however I've heard or seen results that it doesn't work on moisture very well, IDK. They also make other good products. I've had good results with the "Trans Tune" in power steering.

Everyone that I have talked to about Sea Foam are firm believers in the product. I will be using it from now on. I have 2 older John Deere 2 cylinder tractors, you know, the green colored ones. One of them only gets used a couple times a year and has always been a real good starter. That is until I tried to run it with 3 year old gas in it. Drained the tank and did a good thorough cleaning of the fuel system, through in new plugs and Bob’s your uncle. It is hard if not impossible to get gas to keep any length of time anymore. I will be treating everything I own that with Sea Foam from now on. Whether it sits with fuel in it or not. That goes for my diesels as well.
