The first tractor I drove was a 560 with duals. I was 7 and thought I was cool with duals! Had to grab the steering wheel to push the clutch in. Love the pulls! Been going to them since I was knee high. One family pulled h and c and another ran john deer. They battled it out every year. I drove the h up one year to the pulls after hauling straw wagons.

Super C's are some little work horses , we had one the whole time i lived at home, you could not break that tractor we pulled chopper wagons full of wet hay, for years , even in 4th gear depending on where you were at.. my dad bought it brand new in the early 50's hes 91 now, my brother cleaned it up a bit and to this day you can still go out & start it up like it never missed a day of work...also has super M, & 400 gas...

Cockshutt’s arrow series tractors with those bull gears were some of the best tractor pull tractors ever. Those cast engine tubs keep the front down nicely. What a shame that White bought this company out and ruined it. It was a great Canadian success story. Their combines were second to none. Cockshutt started development of the rotary combine in 1959 which resulted in the White 9700 axial flow combine in 1979, what a combine and many are still in use to day. The legacy lives on in the MF rotary built today (owned by AGCO).

Generally, once you start a pull you are not allowed to change gears. So use down shifting of the TA would not be allowed.

I remember seeing a John Deere tractor at a tractor pull once. It was an 820 painted Gloss Black with the yellow stripe, and i first thought ugh why paint it black, then the more I looked at it the better it looked. Really made the yellow pop.

Good day from Ont. The Mta & JD 60 were running regular gov. speed. The 560, Cockshutt were way over sped. In a sense it does not make it fair. The red & black C over reved. Thanks

I think I know why, It's in there rules. The pulling club I belong to at one time had it as you can't pull the TA on the fly. If you think you need the power, you start out in TA position. Our rule has since been changed and it is a lot more fun being able to pull that magic stick.
