Without a sled that thing is a broken arm waiting to happen. I love it!

Mean machine!

I wish all manufactures had an option for a diesel motor even for the smaller machines. I’ve got 5 old GTs & I wish they all came with a diesel motor from factory, but then again if they did I wouldn’t have gotten em for as cheap as I did.

While Cub Cadet did build a similar tractor with a diesel engine, this is not one of those. This one is all custom built from a pile of parts. And this engine is nearly double the size. The factory used a .6 liter engine and this is a 1.1 liter.

What motor is this

Do you have this tractor un-governed? I've watched this tractor at Columbus a lot and a ton of videos and I can't say I've ever heard it idle? Is your throttle hooked directly to the rack?
@farmallgray7 жыл бұрын
Yes it is hooked directly to the rack. Governor is completely removed.

farmallgray oh ok nice! Every body tells me that you can't get these to idle if you do that but For the life of me I can't understand why you couldn't just make a stop screw set up like on carburetors? To hold the rack in one spot?
@farmallgray7 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately it doesn't work that way. It is too sensitive plus with a stop you can't shut it down. I manually make it idle to warm it up and doing that you can't hold it in one place. It either stalls or revs way up.

farmallgray oh ok I gotcha, I'm new to the diesel world and I'm trying to learn as much as I can lol. I've always admired this tractor simply because you make absolutely incredible power and the other guys in the same ball park as you spend about half an hour and 2-3 cans of ether, you just warm it up for a few minutes and roll with it lol.

Sweet little tractor!!! That motor sounds awesome!! What year was it manufactured?
@farmallgray7 жыл бұрын
It is pieced together from several different models along with a lot of custom fabrication. The major styling was used on production tractors from 1981 to 1984 in red then continued in yellow & white through 1989.

That looks great. I noticed the front grill and the top of your hood mock the 88 series IH farm tractors. I have been wanting to do A build with one of my 82 series cubs with tgat look. Did you buy that grill from somewhere or fabricate that.

I made it. I have made a few more. You can email me at farmallgray at aol dot com and I can give you more information.

I made it myself.

How do you get it to hold the RPM?
@mattgrooms32987 жыл бұрын
And did you have to modify the pump springs to get it there?
