I live in Italy and wild boar (cinghiale) are not only a threat to farmer's crops, but they can erode terraced olive groves, destroy vineyards, tear down fences, and do other damage. Also in recent years, a singular (group) of wild boar have tried to attack several hunters. They are more aggressive now, at least here in Italy. And the hunters always hunt in groups. There's a case to be made for shooting piglets first because the big ones are easier targets while moving
@johnmead84372 жыл бұрын
@@worsethanjoerogan8061 While the situations are not easy to fully interpret on video, it can safely be said most youtube shooting is really ineffective, particularly for achieving any meaningful control. And since many do it for amusement, and some farmers support their pests being educated and shifted around temporarily, and hunting interests have no intention to control pests they like shooting, the problem is perpetual. Good control is not having escapes that know what has happened. None. Not dozens.
@demef7582 жыл бұрын
@@johnmead8437 Give me a shipping address and I'll send you a few dozen. You can then show the YT community an effective means of control. I.e. lead by example, not whining.
@johnmead84372 жыл бұрын
@@demef758 We have them here, with similar types of shooters that know much and are ineffective. Having done some successful (and unsuccessful) pest control and eradication work the issues, which are not whining, are pretty clear. So are the attitudes, and guiding foreigners gives a clear impression on their understanding of the topic. Better hunters make less noise usually. I've little intention to participate in dealing to pests unless paid reasonably for the trouble. Most places deserve their vermin, the locals and hunters encourage it.

At 2:12-2:13 you can see just a small amount of the enormous damage the hogs do to the grazing fields and crops. They are an invasive species and must be eradicated in any way possible. This is just one of those ways. And it's a bonus if the meat from these hogs could be processed and/or donated to people in need. I'd love to go on a hunt like this.

@@timothykeith1367 , You could do like the Cajuns do in Louisiana, with the Gators, do the processing yourself.
@timothykeith13672 жыл бұрын
@@BobbyTucker I think processing as sausage is best for an amateur. I suppose there are good instructions for cutting up a pig but I think I'd want to grind it into sausage and get it done as quickly as I could. My grandparents used to have a smokehouse and they would preserve as many as six hogs a year, giving some away to helpers . They didn't have a freezer until the '50s.
