I have heard a lot of Leyland L60 engines and they always sounded like they were on the limit but this one is the sweetest sounding L60 I have ever heard, you certainly have a good one and it should (hopefully) be a good 'un. Great content Mat, keep it up!
@gusgone45272 жыл бұрын
Agreed! It runs beautifully, must be the one Leyland got right. Perhaps they should just keep it there on the stand and never give it hard work to do. Start it up every couple of months and let people gaze in wonder at how things should have been. Wrap the bugger in cotton wool and heated blankets the rest of the time. A 24/7 guard could be a wise move too.

Top tip .Don't have the fan belts on when running up. Your more likely to catch a fan blade in the face than get a piston through the block. Those blades are fitted using feelers gauges to get the spacing between the tip and fan cowl .When the pack is run up out of the hull the cowls can flex due to not being retained by the hull and boom !

Red top is also mk13a L60, but earlier one, later when that’s all they had, they just painted the whole engine duck egg shell blue, always need to be level to the vehicle when fitting the engine, was a bugger fitting them with the vehicle on a slope.
