Hello there! greetings from Denmark. If you want to avoid a big drop getting to the end of a clamp and starting a new one. i suggest doing a 25/75 new/old mix when switching. then do 50/50 and 75/25 then 100/0. this makes the cows get used to the new feed and normally ensures a smaller drop when switching :) lovely video!

We use sand to close a silo when it's full. And when we are filling it and it's not full we use gravel and sand bags and a lot of tires. The key in making silage is keeping the air out as much as posible. It sometimes can be really hard to keep it out....

I've seen woodworkers use a plastic sheets sealed at the edges and a vacuum pump to squeeze things together. I wonder if something similar could be done w/ the clamps
@KevinJD20302 ай бұрын
@@TomBuskey never heard of something like that. But i think that it could work well the only problem will be sealing up all the silage I think. There is a concept with a reusable sheet which fills itself with water to close a clamp

Sandi Brock (Sheepishly Me) breeds sheep in Canada and is having a lot of problems with you tube flagging her videos and taking them down when the sheep are lambing. Anything red, as in blood, is a no no even though it’s showing a perfectly natural process and is to show what happens when sheep lamb. She was blurring out any ‘red’ bits but her videos were becoming almost unwatchable as the whole point was to see lambing in progress. She is now playing with the contrasts on her videos and reducing colour sometimes right through to B&W in order to get round the ‘red’ being picked up by the AI that KZbin use. So far so good If your strike was due to blood being shown try either blurring or reducing colour saturation and see if that’s acceptable. Quite honestly I feel very cross with this attitude from KZbin censoring, I’m a grown up and seeing a bit of blood during a natural process doesn’t make me cry or whatever else this kind of censoring is trying to achieve.
@scar5head2 ай бұрын
Tara of 'Tara Farms' in Australia and Cammie of 'The Sheep Game' in Scotland have been having the same problem; I think think that Tara did some research with KZbin which Sandy acknowledged. Folks may also remember that Tom did one of his very best Vids some months ago where his Vet demonstrated how to fix a twisted gut. Tom gave a warning about the content beforehand and it was a bit surprising how many youtubers elected NOT to watch what was an outstanding video. Yet Tara has shown in detail how blow flies eat sheep alive and KZbin shows it all because there is no blood. Fans don't want to be wrapped in cotton wool, the more difficult realities of farming need to be shown.
