I think one point that could be brought up about the feeding of livestock or milking of cows on sabbath is this. In light of health reform, why would Adventists be raising beef and milk cows and chickens in the first place? Ellen White makes it clear that disease will increase in animals so that we will completely discard all forms of animal products. In fact she discarded them in her household in her day. And if animal products need to be eliminated from our diet it would be wrong to raise animals for someones else to eat. We would be responsible for the harmful effects. It's no different than growing tobacco or wine grapes.
