Absolutely stunning kitchen design- bravo! I love it! I love the stove and floors, perfection right there. I have a galley kitchen, hard to design around that. I did remodel 10 years back, but I'm thinking of tearing out walls and starting new. I'm not giving up on my dreams for my kitchen. It is on my "someday list".

In my kitchen there is a part of the ceiling where the beam comes down a couple inches, dividing the kitchen in half. It's plastered over and made to look like the rest of the ceiling, but one project I would love to do is to source a reclaimed wooden beam that I can have carved out to fit perfectly over the existing beam. I think it would add a lot of charm to the kitchen and give it an english cottage vibe!

My kitchen is very much mine too. I'm crazy about old Irish cottages and I'm building my house to look like one. I used antique free standing cabinets that I'd collected over the years in place of regular counter/cabinets and purchased a beautiful wood cookstove from Ireland. Like you- it was a priority that I will never regret. I also purchased a lovely antique metal sink cabinet with the old enamel sink. Some things are worth saving for and investing in. I love my kitchen. It has exactly the feel I was going for and you wouldn't find another like it in the world. 😊

An industrial size country estate kitchen that operates restaurant style belowstairs with all those various work stations, a behemoth monster of a cooker tucked in an old hearth, pot & plate racks, butler's pantry, larder, plenty of pine mixed with painted furniture that looks like it was slowly & lovingly built & curated over the centuries. 😉Could comfortably while away the hours⏰ in the Elliott's petite Homestead kitchen. 🗼Parisienne elegance mixed w/rustic dinge is a brilliant aesthetic. I am a girl who would stop videos just to study your kitchen in awe and excitement, as you were filming something. Thank you Stu for panning extra slow while filming. It makes for nice focus when I need to stop, study, admire, and glean from the hard work and heart that has been poured into this room. The kitchen door!!! AND THAT RANGE!!!!! It's like the star of the room. Your wallpaper is just perfect for the space, and I almost died when I saw it originally!!! You've changed your "coffee station" table. Boy, when searched for rustic, farmhouse kitchens, I was immediately drawn to yours. I have the standard oak front cabinets that most contractors use, and twenty years ago they were fine. I had black granite counters installed with black appliances and yellow cheery walls. The floors are 10x10" grey tiles, which I've always disliked, but they were in great shape so I left them. I'm wanting to change things up. The black counters cracked in two places and it was within the 5 years I had them installed so they replaced them for free. I went with a thicker slab with black, tans, white and some lite brown and I love them. I knew I wanted white cabinets sometime in the future and figured these counters would work well with them. I like the look of open shelves, but don't like the dust and bug bodies that tend to accumulate if you don't use those items very often. I'm thinking the wall the dining set is, I would do board and batten, but I love your walls. I bought some land as an investment a long time ago and there was an old house that literally was falling down on the property so, with the help of my brothers and friends, we went in and salvaged old brass hardware, boards, beams, etcetera before I had it taken down. I even saved the stone foundation and original huge stone slab stepping stones at the entrances of the home and now outside my home. I have some chestnut beams and wallboards from that old house and though they sell very well, I think I may use them for fake wall boards in my kitchen. I want a restored wood cookstove for my kitchen to heat my tiny 900sq. ft house and to also cook on if the electric goes out. I bought one last year in cream that has a copper side tank for the heated water. I like it as it is, but I want it more efficient and have less heat loss, so it is with a company I took it to in Vermont that restores and improves the heat retention of the old stoves. That should be ready by Oct. first and also have an existing brick hearth for it too. The restoration is not cheap, and I could have bought a new Viking Stove with that money, but I already have a big vintage stove I use for my everyday cooking and baking. If you really want something you have to be patient and save for it.

I love what you’ve done with your kitchen, it really does seem to reflect who you are. I also loved your old kitchen, it reflected more of who I am, ha! Those 1950s birch cabinets, swoon! And that vintage stove, I have one too! Your house, gardens, life seems to be the stuff dreams are made of. It’s very fun to watch, although I’m old enough to know that life is just life, it’s not a fairytale, no matter how beautiful and blessed the surroundings. Thanks for taking us along, I really enjoyed seeing the before and after. I might have to watch this one several times. Oh, I forgot to say I really liked the music.

I have a narrow, many door openings galley kitchen and we are waiting for the hubs to start drawing his retirement in another 30 days. With the knowledge of the total money we will have with his pension too, we are redoing the kitchen in our 70s home. I want to make it easier to work in since I am short and "old" it needs to have lower counters. The last appliance to get will be the gas stove. I am having cabinets built to mimic old dressers because I prefer drawers instead of doors. So after the crazy year that is 2020, 2021 will be the year my gardens flourish and the kitchen becomes a place that works! Eclectic farm with my family antiques in use! I love how your kitchen has come together!

Shared your channel and this video in particular on my channel because we all need an interlude from the mad world now. Thank you, Shaye. ~Cynthia

Totally enjoyed the tour of your kitchen. Our house is 213 years old. I’m enjoying making it mine. I know it’s not everyone’s cup of tea but it is mine!

I enjoyed the talk and tour of your kitchen. I love your floor. We live in coastal Kenya and here it's so hot many home in the villages here cook outdoors.

💐Greetings! If it weren't for our dratted mosquitos in LA, cooking & dining outdoors👩🍳year round sounds lovely under a heavily shaded patio☀️. 💐Agree. Her ⚜Parisienne terra cotta tile is stunning, esp. in that brilliant shape. It looks like it will last a few more centuries. As far as I figure, the majority of tile can look ugly dated in a design nanosecond😝. Although I'd prefer to have it as a backsplash or on a powder room floor. Firmly in the plank floor camp for kitchens. As sweltering ☀️hot🌡it gets in the San Fernando Valley area of LA with our triple digit 100°F+ temps in 🍁Autumn🍊, I ❄freeze❄in our relatively mild Winters with tile floors. 👕Can wear shorts outside on a 🌞sunny 50°F day, but mid-60s inside feels absolutely❄arctic🌨. Our area rug saves us from complete torture in the bathroom, but disrobing for the💧shower💦 is still killer😲.

It's perfectly charming and obviously serves you well. The stove is amazing! We are getting one of those. My motto is something should be both pretty and functional. And on that note, that plastic trash can next to the icebox....maybe something a bit more rustic/pretty could be found?

I came over from Angela’s channel & subscribed right away! I’m binging on your videos & the first thing I’m going to make is the herb salt! We have tons of Rosemary & I don’t mind picking up the other herbs. It will be used a ton!!

Very nice tour! For many years I worked on historical remodels for the state. I always loved demolition because I would discover the original storage/cubby holes built into the walls, beautiful copper ceilings hidden behind plaster etc. It was like a form of archeology. Very good work putting your family life and style into your kitchen! P.S Good editing, well done editor.

Beautiful kitchen! Love the stove. It's nice to see you don't need a vent hood on top of stove. I always find myself opening up the windows when I cook.

This is so lovely. It is clear you worked really hard and it was well worth it. The different colors on the walls, tho are driving me crazy! I love the gray in the back corner and Im wondering what it would look like it they all had the same gray. LOVE the floors, wall paper and stove.

I hear you saying a lot in your videos "it's not perfect, it's not perfect"... But I ask myself "is not perfect for whom?!?!?". Gosh, your house looks pretty perfect for me, just because it reflects your values and your essence. I wish I could live in a place like that but I would get burnt out from all the cleaning 😂 your house looks beautiful and I can't wait to see all that is coming up!

The best part for me was that gorgeous stove,. Loved the wallpaper, really wrks great 4 yr kitchen. Yr floor brought back memories when we were in Spain. So much terra cotta there too. Did bring back some to use somewhere in our home that we were going to build at that time but never used them, should dig them out and use in my soon to be new garden shed. How do you clean yr floor since it looks so unlevel. Be careful not to stub yr toes on the edges! 😉

Love the authentically you type of homes too. So much better than the buy it at Marshall's type farmhouses now the rage. Please tell me about your Espresso maker. Where did you get it? Love that wallpaper. I love a warm, cozy lived in house that isn't sterile and perfectly perfect. Give me rustic, French, Italian, cottage style farmhouse for sure.
