I appreciate the work you put in to your videos. I like the commentary and pacing. It's very chill to watch. The more popular channels play weird music and speed up almost as soon as field work begins. I understand as a content creator you cant show everything but really like how you do it simply skip forward no music or 10x speed that I hate watching. Thanks for the quality videos!

I find that other style of video hard to watch, I will skip the music sections, so I stopped including them in my own content a long time ago. My approach now is to make a video I would watch, and that way I find an audience usually that has similar tastes.

Excellent video, thanks. I always overlook bees. Must remember to add some. I've always used the GPS mod which requires you to spend £15k per vehicle you want it on and that's how I am happy to put it on something that maybe wouldn't have been possible irl.
@DisTurbedSimulations14 күн бұрын
Thanks, and me too but they seem a cheap option at this point. I always thought 15K was too much having seen some real life youtubers do it for less, but I think free in certain styles of game play isn't right
@CrankyAnt10 күн бұрын
You said discuss! so my take on GPS is that it can literally be retrofitted to any vehicle IRL, even when its 100 years old. To add realism you can make a case to pay for it, 15-40k depending on the value of money in FS25 (i have a feeling its a bit more reasonable this time). I think real farmers would do it whenever they can, cause thats economically the right choice, saves you doing double work or skipping pieces which would result in less yield, but im not a farmer so I base this on logic, not knowledge. You still have the option to not use it, like you did now at some point, for players who like that aspect of the game. Even with GPS however you still have to grind your way through bigger fields with a 3 meter vegetable harvester lol ;)
@DisTurbedSimulations10 күн бұрын
Yeah, I think my point is it feels lazy to use it on all the old kit with no cost of installing it. Just my view and partly something to discuss :)

I've never really considered Soy Beans to be a "profitable" crop, sure it's a high value crop, but it's very low yield, so it averages pretty much the same value as most other cereal crops in game. The only significant benefit, is that low yield/density, means you don't have to empty a harvester very frequently, and you don't need to take as many trips to the wholesaler. I would usually suggest Sugar Beets as a good value crop, though the high yield, low value, makes it labor intensive to harvest. It used to be among the best per acre income. But checking the FS25 store, we've lost our cheap tractor hauled harvest solution, the replacement now needing 280hp tractor, and the defoliator needs 180hp (can't run it on a MF5S anymore). I also noticed that we've lost the Sugar Cane tractor hauled harvester. The only non-cereal harvesters we now have with reasonable tractor hauled HP requirements is the carrot/red onion/parsnip option, and since they weren't precision farming friendly, I never really investigated how profitable they were! Outside of field crops, there's the grape & olive options, at least those harvesters aren't 1/2Million to buy, but again they're aggravating to use, and I don't know their relative profit. The new farmer seems to be limited to the basic crops, OR being a super specialist of one crop type, until they build up a working capital... and many more fields (to justify the outlay on a 1/2Million Harvester!).
@DisTurbedSimulations8 күн бұрын
Based on data soybeans is one of the most profitable combinable crops, and I wanted crops that could all be harvested with a combine.

I was torn on using GPS in FS22. I've seen older equipment fitted with steering assist that isn't so much GPS but hit helps hold a heading so it's definitely possible. It would be easier not using it if the graphics aligned better with what's actually happening in the field. For instance, I noticed quite a few times while harvesting in FS 22 where the foliage would be removed from the field but yet the map would show an unharvested strip of crop.

I think these days you can fit after market GPS to everything, my rambling was partly from a content point of view it almost felt it might be boring watching me just constantly switch GPS on and off along with it being too easy. And yeah that is annoying, that was what happened in the bean contract.
@jacobl165714 күн бұрын
I used VCA on everything in 22, so I don’t think it’s an issue. It would’ve been cooler to see gps as a buyable option in the store, but either way I don’t think most will be worried about it.

oh for most it won't be an issue, but that has never been something that's guided my rambling or my content ;)

I've seen some smaller US youtube farmers use GPS screens on a self-contained GPS monitor - it's definitely NOT Guidance Steering though. They use it to make more efficient coverage of fertilizer, and other consumables.

1 thing I wanted to test when I got the game was if fert state showed on the mini map or not. You will remember that previously that was only a precision farming feature. Well it doesn't so that makes manually driving fields especially a field like mine that has tall corn growing in it very difficult and I'm lazy so I don't care if it's not realistic I'm going to use GPS to make my life easier.

yeah, we have to wait for PF to get that back.

Back in FS22 it became evident that leasing a harvester for the first few years was a plan... but never use it for harvesting contracts - the lease payments exceed the harvest payment and bonus by a large margin.
@DisTurbedSimulations8 күн бұрын
I think it's probably different if you've already leased it to harvest your own fields.

@@DisTurbedSimulations Only if you don't do too many, keep under the hourly tick over. That hourly cost can completely fubar your planned income if you're not careful. If it's got an engine it might not be worth using it in a contract.

Regarding GPS, in FS22 I always start from scratch and at the beginning I can't afford GPS so I don't use it. 1st year on TLP has had no vehicles with GPS apart from the rented ones for contract. When I have enough money I'll buy a combine/tractor with GPS

I see the steering assist like I do the workers. If you want to use them, they are there, but many will certainly choose not to. Could it be a customization option to add some more realism? 100% that will be a mod, but giants is aiming for the casual, not necessarily the folks that play Terralife. Also the argument to be made the steering assist is a gameplay tool for helping keyboard players to have a less tedious time replicating what someone with a steering wheel can do rather easily and comfortably. Though I see this argument holding less water than the first.
@DisTurbedSimulations14 күн бұрын
All valid points, except the last one (I play on keyboard 99.9% of the time ;) )
@rubbybobinson354312 күн бұрын
You don’t need to use the GPS if you don’t want to. I don’t think it is a big hit to “realism” with such a small amount of inexpensive equipment available at this point.

Don't see the reason why the game needs to force you to play one way or the other. Rather then you play realistically or not.. I think too many are putting there way off playing as a must play so the game needs to be blocking some abilities off paly.. I don't mind if i can do some unrealistic things in thiss game.. i like the ability to make the choice my self rather then the game.. 😁
