Great work on that Scroft, however the next question is Production, e.g. grapes / olives is at the bottom, but if you take them to a production, and sell the end products, do they still come out at bottom? Maybe that is the way to turn them in to a money maker ? Are you making the spreadsheet available online, so we always get the latest version when we open it up?

Edit: i was so in rage about the vegtables i almost forgot to tell that the whole video is realy nice, thanks for youre work. The whole vegetable harvesting system (carrots, parsnips, beetroot) is broken at the moment. You can only effectively use one harvester-the one with a tank on it-but it takes an eternity because it only covers one row (0.8m). All the other harvesters, especially the larger ones with four rows, require you to drive alongside them, and that’s where the problems begin. If the AI drives straight, it works okay. But as soon as it needs to turn, it becomes a nightmare. The AI will only turn if you’re positioned directly under the ejection belt, leaving you stuck in a frustrating back-and-forth. If you’re in the way, the AI can’t turn. If you’re not in the way, you’re not under the ejection belt, and it still doesn’t work. This wouldn’t be such a problem if the AI worked like it did in LS22, where it simply drove in straight lines. Now, it proceeds to turn at the edges of the field, which is great for most crops but makes the vegetable issue worse. You can’t work around the problem by forcing it to drive straight anymore. I eventually gave up on harvesting vegetables entirely-it’s just not worth the hassle. Hope they (or mods ) will fix that issue
@RGbccАй бұрын
@@maltemuller1577 took a contract for one of these crops. Let’s just say if it had been in the 2 hour window I might have refunded. Keep yourself sane and skip these until molders add a harvester with storage.
@R41d1Ай бұрын
I thought the harvester all have a tank for the vegetables? I just noticed that doing sillage is pain, because exactly what you said is happening. but in that case, you dont have to be very exact at the truck. Cant imagine how this should work on vegetables if there is no thank.
@maltemuller1577Ай бұрын
@R41d1 there is actually one with a tank , the tank only got like 5000l (don't remember correctly) that one just got one row, so it takes lot of time and you need to empty it fast so you can't let AI do it for long until you need to drive by and empty him. The self driving harvester got 4 rows and it want you exactly under the belt wich can't change direction. For silage you at least git some space to drive, and an multi directional output. It just seems giants was so enthusiastic about their new GPS AI that tge forgot it brings new problems. It's pretty much easy to fix I think, if game detects silage or vegetables AI could go into ,,just straight lines,,mode (like it did in former games)that would solve the issue.
@jeremiahgranatowski1400Ай бұрын
There's a mod Harvester that you can download, it has a large tank and does 4 rows at a time. I hated vegetables before I downloaded the mod and now I plant a whole lot of veggies.

Great video, I would've been interesting to consider the "cost of entry" for each crop. I am disappointed by the fact that rice scored so low, but if you consider the harvester and planter only cost around 130.000 together, this changes the math, perhaps. Also next step could be to consider productions and the impact on the sell price - Canola scored low, what if you turn it into oil, will it score better? You have all the data, already, so it shouldn't be too bad to look at

Not surprised to see the new rice lower down on the per minute result. But I'm curious how these numbers will change if they're pushed through a production facility. Harder to take a good balance on that, things like cotton and wheat/barley/oats are better after being pushed through a couple of productions. Canola being turned to oil I think would bring back the £/min for the British Farming enthusiasts

I won't stand for this grape slander Scroft! 😂 I assume it will be the same story as FS22 for them that you really need to be doing some productions with them, plus I think you would be a bit mad if you aren't cheating in some money to cover the initial planting cost or using a mod that makes it cheaper. I would be curious to see this comparison with the tweak that each crop’s income is based on the price in the (first) month you would be harvesting it. Essentially simulating the results for someone who doesn’t choose to sit on harvests until best sell price periods - they just harvest and sell. I also think a study on time-to-profitability would be interesting. Basically, so many of the crops require specialty equipment to harvest. So why not take that equipment’s cost into consideration. For example, sugar beets have the highest profit, but maybe the sugar beet equipment is also the most expensive, so if you compare it to a more average profit crop that maybe has cheaper priced equipment to harvest something ends up looking more appealing.
@wikingnor4619Ай бұрын
So you want to test every Havester with every havester head? do you know how many combination that is? The first havester have problem with 8,5m long head, but it still works slowly. Why would you want the New Holland- CR11 with a 6m head? you can do it, just look really stupid. but if you lack the money for bigger 'head' it is a equipment comparison you ask for not only that, but that also require the same from the other equipment as well. The are like what? only 5 that can only be havested one way. only 1 equipment that works on each. Out of the 25 different crop's.
@ddSqueezeАй бұрын
@@wikingnor4619sugar beets, potatoes, spinach, sugarcane, rice, cotton, peas, green beans, sunflowers, corn, grapes, and olives all require specialized equipment to harvest. As do red beets, carrots, and parsnips, which can all be harvested with the same piece of equipment, but still not a standard combine. So… essentially the exact inverse of what you stated. Only “like 5” (7 of 22) can be harvested with a combine harvester. 2/3 of crops require specialized equipment. As for the rest of your statement - not at all the point I’m getting at. Choose one optimal combine harvester for those crops, and consider that the “equipment cost” for those crops.

The price graphs work like the stock market graphs. Because it doesn't show the caddles, people think that the show price is the highest. But it was the end of day price. So during that day it could have gone over the price and lowered before end of day. So getting the price at 9am is doing the same thing, you have just change when the end of day price is. I may not be able to expland it well enough, but their are plenty of people that has explained a stockmarket caddle for you to look up and understand. Hope this helps people with the graph and this knowledge can spread.

since you have all this info gathered already it would be very interesting if you used all this info to also show what the best production chains are. since you already have the time to farm each plant for a certain amount of liters just put that many liters from the list you have for each required material for the production chain. add any manual labor time(not passive) required to get production materials then show how much manual labor time it takes to make (x) amount from each production chain. maybe it will change up the list of what the most valuable crop is to grow if you were to use it for a production chain. maybe you don't have to be disappointed about canola maybe canola oil is really worth it. would make for a very interesting follow up video with a lot of the leg work already done.

But not sure where you can store spinach, cetainli not in a normal grain elevator.

Actually, silage prices seemed to have gotten nerfed bigtime. Peak prices in fs22 were typically $275-325 on normal economy In Riverbend, peak prices are only $200 on normal. Finally, they have given me a reason to not do silage. SBs though, they earn #1 due to the crazy logistics, especially if you aren't using a cheese whiz multifruit silo.

Specialised harvesters cost tons of money and their use is limited to one crop. That point would make Wheat-Barley-Oats-Canola better as you need just one harvester for all of them. Sugar beets or Potatoes harvesters will cost you tons of money so return, even with better profits, is much longer. Much much longer when you get to the bottom of the list. Same could be said about grass, but you can buy some machines that can do more than just grass(seeder, fertilizing, etc.), so its not going to be just sitting there waiting for the next season. Initial cost, minimal to best is also important. Maybe idea for the next video.

Thats an awesome list, especially with the time consumed. Some Fruits are super time annyoing. Now one has to think about, whats a good starting crop . because all top tier crops have machines that cost 500k+. Wheat I can do with smaller stuff, and its usable for different crops. eah for just earning the most money, I guess I would do cotton. Especially because whool and cloths is also super good and an easy industry. But for longtime fun I guess its best to start with Position 5-9. It would be super exciting, to compare all products in the factories, and maybe the animals. But thats pritty difficult I guess. To much to take into account. Some products just need one ingediant, some like cereals (is it that in english - Müsli in german) need 4 grapes included. For many you need animal stuff like eggs or milk. But would be nice to see which have a good payout. I read, that e.g. buffalo and his mozzarella isnt worth.
